MD,
Our '99 team will be out your way this weekend. My dd plays on that team and I expressed what a great host you all will be for them
She has only played (2) tournies with this team after taking almost (11) months off from softball after a bad coach experience on another team. Glad to see her back in the saddle. I am in Canfield with out 18U Elite team. Wish you all the best of luck!

Hey Sox , I saw the kids pic on the web site , figured she was yours . I'm off work this weekend and really look forward to watching . I wish my team was available to compete but I've got 3-4 of my nine not available. Sox's older dd will be added to that list of D-1 signee's from the Doom pretty soon .

Just adding a bump, hoping MD was able to secure that roster spot. Doom '99 beat the Stingrays last night MD in a very good game. I was in Canfield for the Fall Brawl with our 18U Elite team and it appears rain was the theme throughout the state......welcome to Fall Ball!

I was there watching all weekend , that last game was " interesting" LOL .. actually there was no drama , just a really really mature 1st year 14u Stingray team battling a solid Doom99 team. Stingrays looked ready to cruise to the win leading 7-4 after 5 innings , it was getting really dark so the ump's told both head coach's " we have time for 1 more inning " coachs agreed , so in the 6th Doom scores 3 to tie at 7 ( DP on the base path's ended the inning ) and they had to pack up and move to an adjoining field that had lights , Doom had all the momentum , Got rays out 1-2-3 and hit a walk off triple to win it . Rays team swings the bat really really well. Was great to see upper level teams come to Portsmouth . BTW - I know you are a fan of the power hitter -- that doom 00' girl that subbed for the Doom on Sat -- what a fluid nice swing that kid has .. name might have been alexander ?? GREAT approach and understanding , looks nearly identical to Kayla Koch at 14.

Not real familiar with all the kids on the 99 team, but their 4-hole hitter has a great approach. Only thing I noticed is that she doesn't take "her swing" to the plate. Her swing breaks down at impact somewhat, but she will continue to develop at this level and I am sure attain that aggressive swing through the ball. That is the 3rd time those teams have met. Based on messages from my wife, I thought Stingrays had it locked up. Sounded like a real barn burner. I know my dd was elated to be apart of what they were able to do. Great way to end the tournament.

Wont be long before indoor workouts start . If your kid has any aspirations for playing upper level ball and you wish to set your daughter up to be a potential recruit look no further than playing for a Cincy Doom team. Do your research . Look at the Doom's history . Big chance for local kids to play for a great organization without all the travel for practices. PM me if interested . MD

The Bowling Green Clinic is one of the best I have seen a college put on in a HS Gym. Well thought out and very informative. Just one benefit of playing for Doom organization. I am headed to Toledo that day, MD, but my Doom 99 player will be there. Take good notes ;)

Cincy Doom 02 had 4 players attend BG Camp. We'll worth the trip. Any luck filling those open roster spots with local Portsmouth area players? Hope local talent takes a look at Cincy 02 Doom based out of Portsmouth Ohio. Looks like a great opportunity for players in the surrounding area. A short and long term opportunity.

I enjoy keeping up with all the posts on travel softball. So thank you. Keep info coming. Just to fill my own curiosity/ignorance:) What do the numbers stand for on the Cincy Doom teams? ie. 99, 02? Also, are there more teams of different ages? Thanks

bd452-- the 02 represents the birth year of the players . So all this team ( at this point anyway ) is all 11u players . And the Doom has teams at every age , sometime two per age group . When teams have multiple teams they often choose a number like their DOB's ( Doom 02' ) or the head coach's last name ( Doom - smith ) and occasionally teams use Colors ( Laser - Red Laser - Blue ) hope that helps .. you can see all the Doom teams at cincydoom.net

MD knows his stuff. If you have a DD that has the work ethic, drive, and passion for the sport; she will only improve by playing the best and having a coach that is in it for the right reasons. Contact MD for more info.
