I think that a HR was hit off Jackson at the Minford game, if I'm not mistaken.

MD... Personally, I think "inside the park" HRs are rare, but without an error, it should be counted. :)
20 HRs is amazing, what the heck are they feeding these girls?

Good job ND!

MD,

Kayla has always worked at home on hitting. Showcase camps have helped a lot with drills and understanding the purpose of those drills have allowed her to develop a hybrid rotational/linear swing. I have looked at some of HC stuff before and have incorporated some of his technique. Being on a TB team, she has received A LOT of advice on how to hit (every TB dad carries a "professional hitting instructor" card in his back pocket), but she has developed a good fundamental swing that she has been able to generate power from. Her success is her desire, but I can tell you she puts a lot of time in. I would hazard a guess that she averages (500) swings a week. In season, probably closer to (750). The hardest part is not allowing a hitter to get complacent with that much hitting. Maintaining a high level of bat speed is difficult. Different drills allows a hitter to apply different concepts with bat speed. Now a hitter is growing/maturing/becoming above average. Kayla has experienced as much bad as she has good. Those are experiences you never want to take from them. That is what makes a good hitter great!
