What a great day for softball, bad thing is look like we might be force inside for next couple of days. LET'S HOPE NOT!!!
I felt both Notre Dame and Jackson took advantage of good weather and very worth opponents. Game started with the first 2 innings of even Os for both teams, as the pitcher would take andvantage of early season hitter's eyes. Just Notre Dame 2 scrimmage and Jackson first to see live pitching. Jackson would execute first to put a run across the plate in the bottom of 3rd. Jackson would score 2 more in the bottom of 4th after a Riley Strawser 1 out BOMB to left-center field. Top of the 5th, not to be held down, Notre Dame first baseman hits a bases loaded, 2 out 1-2 count BOMB to left field. Made a 4-3 look Jackson would execute some timely hitting to produce 2 more runs, and in top of the 7th, Notre Dame would execute offisively to push 1 run across. I believe that is where the first 7 innings finished @ evened up with 5s.
But what a great scrimmage. BOTH teams had some very fine defensive plays, VERY FINE pitching by both squads.
FROM A COACH EYE: Great day for evaluation and coaching, hate to admit it, but fell a bit exhausted and throat a bit sore.
ALL IN ALL, Great day to be playing ball.
VERY PROUD OF MY IRONLADIES, BUT YOU CAN BET IT WILL BE BACK TO WORK ON MONDAY!!!
GO IRONLADIES!!! ;)
