Scrimmages mean a lot to teams who want to get better. They mean nothing to teams that usally are not real good, show up un-prepaired, or just get blown out and use the famous scrimmages mean nothing excuse.

It seems to me it depends on how the coach is approaching the scrimmage. If they are trying to teach the kids to win then they are important. If they are trying to see how players will preform in game like situations that is important but the wins and losses don't mean much.

Please DON"T TELL my players that a scrimmage "DON'T MEAN MUCH"! I believe it is ALL about, "WHAT DOES A COACH WANT OUT OF IT>" We look at scrimmages as a chance to get mentally prepared for a gametime situation..

Anyone in Jackson that saw the first 7 innings would probably agree that the scrimm=age between ND vs Jackson was being played in EVERY situation as IT DOES MATTER..

I hope our next 3 scrimmages are as productive. As the COACH, was able to observe and coac]h players through every situation.

THANKS TO NOTRE DAME FOR COMING ON LATE NOTICE AND GIVING US A GREAT LOOK AT A VERY FINE BALL TEAM...

Manitou Dan, were you in attendance today? Was your daughter the blonde hair pitcher?

Very good scrimmage and yes. , both teams should benefit from the good competition . I'm sure you and our staff saw some things that need work . Bats are still behind the pitchers . As we both love hitting it KILLS me that hitters allow pitchers to out work them . But that's reality . Mine was the Rookie SS , left hand hitter .

Very fine player, put herself into positions to make plays.

Natural for hitters to be behind pitchers right now, Tough to simulate 43 ft. live pitching when you are an old-timer like myself. ;) I was happy with the way my hitters battle, very few strikeouts early for our hitters, I believe.

Yeah it is natural for hitters to be a little behind , to me that means hitting it hard the other way ... Lol . I'm a hard ____ ! Hey one of your parents mentioned your 3rd baseman going to Ohio u on a softball ride ? That correct ? She had a smooth glove . Several kids my dd played with are going to OU .

Good scrimmage today with portsmouth west and zane trace. both teams played well with homeruns both ways, Geno had 2 run shot and shupurt had the other. great
pitching but west will hit the ball with geno only having 1 strickout and giving up 6 runs . welch had 6 k's and only have up 3 runs, two very nice teams.
