Southern Ohio Diamond Dazzlers 12u tryouts

Post by Troy »

We are in need of a pitcher. We prefer someone nearing 60 mph but 56+ and we'll give you a look. We have a good variety of ho-hum players. We have a couple super dads that have daughters playing 2nd base and 1st base so need not tryout if those are your positions.

If interested please call 740-867-5309

Thanks

So far I've had 37 dads call about their daughter pitching. 24 of them can touch 60 mph

I'd guess there are less than 10 12u girls in the state that can touch 60. If they're throwing 60, they're not coming to this part of the state to play. But, good luck to you

Good pitching is getting harder to find, not only in this area but also all over the tristate area. Takes to much hardwork and time for most kids and parents. Your good area schools and little leagues will have one good pitcher in each age group, the others will have very little pitching at all levels.

Cmon Softball 24-7 , you just are not looking at the radar correctly. Those dads know Lil Suz can throw 60 at 12u . And 62 in warmups , 60 is game speed . And no they dont need a catcher either -- :)

I agree to some point. But I also feel there is a couple girls out there that work day in and day out.. For what its worth, just my opinion, and not to hi-jack red solo's thread, but.... There are just too many teams out there to really compete on a national level. They are just to watered down..Look at our area alone, how many "so called" travel teams are there, 10,20,30? There's simply a lack of pitching to accommodate the amount of teams around.. Just because your lil "suz" (thx for the name, MD) doesnt make the cut, or doesnt get to play whatever position you think she needs to play at, mean that you need to go start a travel team. There's just too much daddy ball already. Again, redsolo- good luck, and didn't mean to hi-jack your thread

SB24_7,
There are many facets of "travel teams" each has their own place in the softball world.

Rec. Teams - Gets Suzi interested in the game
Local Travel Teams - When Suzi gets better, you take her a short distance away from home to play girls from other local areas.
Regional Travel Teams - When Suzi gets even better and is dominating the local girls, stepping outside the state occasionally.
National Travel Teams - Playing the highest level when Suzi is preparing for college.

Point is, they all have a purpose. So maybe its time to step it up if you think its "watered down" because there are outstanding teams at each level depending on what you want out of it.

I too am sorry for the Hi-Jack Red Solo and good luck in your search for a stud pitcher.

Worked out 2 girls tonight. Good kids and good parents! One girl looked about 56-57 mph and the other was 54-55 mph. Both had great change ups as well.

We are fortunate to have a few outstanding and generous sponsors.

Roster is set but might add 1 more. One of the super dad's daughter matured early and the local volleyball coach at their school has her beginning travel volleyball so she will be missing some. We are going to play 3 tournaments in Indiana, one in Florida and 2 in Texas. We are blessed to have 2 incredible sponsors (one a large business and one former big league with pretty much endless pockets as his daughter is our CF)

We should play some in Ohio but I'm not as familiar with the area as I am Indiana. Any must tournaments we should hit?

I seriously cannot wait.

I've done some guessing/research. Former MLB player and 3 tournies in Indiana.

I immediately thought of 1 player associated with Indiana that I could think of and he in fact has a daughter. I won't say who it is because I believe this is a big joke and he'll go with it as there is a detail about her that doesn't fit that would give it away who I am speaking of.

WOW...lol unbelievable. Not sure if I'm more impressed with myself for guessing correctly or that you have Scott freaking Rolen's daughter on your team.

I guess I'm now sold on this being real. Good luck...sounds like a special team.
