Easy to see you are a youngun! lol

You cant have an all Piketon team without Earl Willson 1964. Was a three time all SVC back of the year. All state and played at the University of Cincinnati, lettered and started for I think 3 years.

Also, Tim Mowery and Greg Storms, TB and FB and defense. Both were all state selections on some of the best teams in the 70's.

Your QB's look ok to me.

Running backs as well except I dont think they are better than the three I mentioned.

On the line, just go into the gym and look at the retired jerseys. If you said Gifford as in Terry and James, the father and son combo both all state then yes. You also have several others, Mike Taylor played at Central Florida and Wilmington several years. Mason and Estepp in the 70's also.

I wont go into defense, usually all mentioned played both ways.

Tim Claytor Center
Fox Robbins LB
Terry Robbins LB
Bill Robbins LB
Shawn Clemmons QB
Brian Brownfield Punter
Terry Mowery- RB/DB
Craig Goode RB
Bill Mason LB
Oldest Gullion Boy QB/RB
Terry Tackett RB
Keith Wilson
Ed Ritchie
Jim Nelson Lineman 66
Brad Smith LB
Dean Smith lineman
Vince Purpero- Possible the best all around best athete ever.......
Ed Purpero
The linemen in the late seventies was way better that the 97 group.
Look at all the all state players

many of the players you mentioned wouldn't even be in the top 5 at their respective positions

I hear stories about how good Mark Ramsey was in the 70's. Anyone remember seeing him play?

There are so many good ones to think about that we could get a headache just thinking about it. You could pick an all-time team just from the 75-79 years (I remember many 40, 50, 60 point wins). Piketon, like many area schools, has been blessed with some outstanding talent.

That might be it, many have went but few have finished.

I guess Jay Gullion would get half credit for Piketon and half for Waverly at WLSC.

I can't believe all of you young Piketonites. Alan Crace was a phenomenal QB in the early 70's with Bud and Butch Pettay anchoring the line for him. He went to Kenyon College on a football scholarship.

How did Piketon do Little's senior year? I seem to remember him.

didn't he break the leg in the loss to Adena and then they lost to Unioto in Week 10 without him?

Actually lost to Unioto earlier in the year. Did Break his leg at Adena with I think was week 10. I could be wrong. They may have one more loss that year. I know Unioto was earlier like week 6 or 7. Both teams were ranked top 8 in region. They only took 4 then.
