Marietta Basketball 2011-2012
First year in the ECOL but still have the two big games against Warren. Senior leadership is big on this team with 7 graduating after this year. Thoughts, predictions, etc?

Re: Marietta Basketball 2011-2012
With so many seniors on this team, they lost a lot from last years team. Tim Grosel and Nathan Williams will lead this team into the season. Eli Lenington and Braden Riley should be in the starting line up also. With one spot up for grabs. Look for Jordan Satterfield and Justin Futrel to battle for the next starting spot. I know I'm missing a few other contributors, someone fill me in? Look for Grosel to really step up and have another great season for the tigers, he was one of the best guards in the SEOAL last year and will be right there in the ECOL. The tigers have the element of surprise this year. Without a 7 footer Coach Seacrest will be running and gunning with this group. I'm sorry for forgetting any names. Good luck with the season tigers. Hope everybody stays healthy!
btw, i believe the tigers scrimmage sometime today (11/11). Anyone have any info on that?

They scrimmaged Morgan and Shenendoah and played pretty well (for the first scrimmage). 10 players played. The other players: Alex Wesel (great to see him out for the team this year) & Matt Thompson will see a lot of playing time at the 3 (and some 4) - one of them could also start. Reed Chwalek (?sp) and Mitchel Gearhart will back up 1 & 2s - both played well today.
They did pick up the tempo and scored in the 20s a couple of quarters. Fun group to watch play. Lots of hustle. And some interesting line-ups - can go small - today Saterfield joined Grosel and Lenington and scored 20 points in 7 minutes with a running clock - and also go bigger with some combination of Futrell, Thompson, Wesel, Williams, and Riley with one of the guards. For the first scrimmage they shot well - hit several 3s.
