The OHSAA has the right to set any semi-final matchup they want..typically its:

I believe it has to do with the condition of fields after a 10 game season, some also using the field for lacrosse and soccer. The OHSAA doesnt want a field to be a factor when teams come this far.
Ok, did a little quick research and after round 1 ALL games were on Turf. I dont think it's a "written" rule, but it's pretty obvious, and has been stated by numerous people.
EXAMPLE:
When OHSAA posted the locations of the week 12 games some of the games seem a bit strange. Versailles/Coldwater @ Welcome when Troy seems a better fit. But Troy has grass. Elida/ St. Francis Desalles @ Northmont when again there had to be a better fit for this game. But Northmont has turf.
It's been headed this way the last few years:
There WERE no week 12 games on natural grass
2011 48-48 games
2010 45-48 games on turf.
So it is apparent that the OHSAA is more concerned about where they play the games then the officials that work the games. Interesting but consistant. LOL.
Having seen Wynford and West on tv, Burg and West, and Burg and Valley, I'll give my analysis
Defense -Wynford held a very good West rushing attack to essentially one touchdown. Wynford looks big up front and the LB's look very good, however, West seemed not to attack much in the air, so it will be interesting if they can cover a Valley passing game, I'm sure they have played a team that can throw during regular season. Valley is suspect to give up yardage and scores, Burg was able to move the ball on them as well as West. Advantage- Wynford
Offense- Valley has yet to face a team that can stop their potent offense. Wynford looks to be balanced and strong but I did not see noticable speed.
Advantage - Valley
Special Teams - If your team is playing in the regional finals. You're specials are pretty good.
Advantage- Push
Coaching - Valley's coaching has done a great job of using all their talent. Don't know much about Wynford,so..
Advantage - Valley
Intangibles - Both schools are going for their 1st regional title so motivation won't be lacking on either side.
Advantage - Push
This will be a great game. This might come down to the success of Valley's passing. If they can find some open routes, Wynford will be in trouble. If Wynford can keep that in check, i think they can hold Valley's rushing to a game winning minimum.
Wynford played 2 playoff teams in the Regular season D-3 region 10 River Valley (7-4) and D-6 region 23 Buckeye Central (9-2)
Valley played 2 playoff teams in the Regular season D-4 region 15 Chesapeake (7-4) and D-5 region 19 Portsmouth West (10-1)
Wynford played 2 playoff teams in the Regular season D-3 region 10 River Valley (7-4) and D-6 region 23 Buckeye Central (9-2)

This is going to be a great game!! I cant wait.
Yes .. it's a matchup ... everyone should get there moneys worth.

Against Crestview our kicker was nails on XP's....he has a pretty good leg, I know FG's are different, Ive been to 4 Valley games, and havent seen an attempted FG.

Havent really needed to attempt FGs but i've seen Holbrook practice alot. And Yates was a very good Kicker last year. Heard he has been practicing FGs again at practice from time to time. So i will say yes. We have a FG kicker. He just hasnt been tested this year. Come to think of it, i think we have attempted one FG. Cant remember which game, but if i remember correctly it ended in a bad snap and the holder trying to run for the first down.
