Valley have a field goal kicker ?
Havent really needed to attempt FGs but i've seen Holbrook practice alot. And Yates was a very good Kicker last year. Heard he has been practicing FGs again at practice from time to time. So i will say yes. We have a FG kicker. He just hasnt been tested this year. Come to think of it, i think we have attempted one FG. Cant remember which game, but if i remember correctly it ended in a bad snap and the holder trying to run for the first down.
Only weakness Wynford has, starting FG kicker suffered a concussion early in the season, then a week later he was involved in a serious car accident...Freshmen in his place, not up to snuff just yet, but practicing double time now.

Might be a wash....

tigerdude,

Is the regular FG kicker going to be ok long-term? I hope his injuries sustained in the car wreck weren't too serious. I hate for any youngster to get hurt in an accident like that.

One could look like it that way, but the BC QB is a WENDY's Heisman winner, kid has a rocket of an arm, BC's offense revolves around passing and Wynford slammed the door on him.

He's recovering, I don't think he's up to playing yet, but he's begging to get in on the action....we'll see...last I heard it was a week to week decision.

C'mon tigerdude. You know you can't compare things like that, or can you? I hope your coaches and players take our team lightly too. I suspect they won't.

A few thoughts come to mind...1) Congrats to that young man, as that is quite an honor; 2) A few years ago (my memory fails me on the year, but the young man's name was Kyle Cayton) won the same award as a member of a non-football playing school member of our conference, so we are familiar with the award and the on and OFF the field things that it takes to acquire such a high award; 3) When you slammed the door on him, your own words say BC's offense revolves around his passing game........our offense doesn't revolve around our passing game. Our offense is extremely balanced. I'm sorry, but there's a huge difference between excellent balance and excellence in a single dimension and I'd hope you know that as well as we do.

Again, not knocking the young man's accomplishments, because that's one whale of an award to win and I have full respect for him. But, that doesn't exactly make me flinch when I consider the game. I think there are probably many more things about the Royals that will impress me more than that.

Not at all, your record speak for itself, Valley is in the elite status, no doubt about it. You earned it on the field, nobody gave it to you.

This game will be a battle.

I'm glad the young man is doing better. Hopefully he will get a chance to be healthy enough to play Friday night. Especially if he is a senior. It has to be added pain for him to be forced to watch his teammates play in the playoffs...although I'm sure all the success has helped.

It shouldn't....Wynford can defend the pass and the run equally as well... is all I'm trying to point out.

I definitely believe you. I've heard from a few folks that the Wynford D is very strong. I know they've played (and handled) teams that throw it well and teams that run it well, but have they played some teams that do both equally as well on any given play out of any given set? I think the ability of a defense to adjust on the fly is a key to containing the Indians.

He was a factor last year in many of the games...just a scoring weapon that Wynford does not have at the moment and could come back to haunt us...it hasn't yet, but sooner or later...

Wynford coaching staff is the reason they have won 58 consecutive league games, willing to throw away the game plan and make adjustments...hard to say playing an over all balanced team...one team Galion was known for rushing, they came into town and threw the ball all night surprising everyone...last minute interception at our goaline saved the day.

If am sure the last Valley FG kicker that made a FG was Evan Richerdson 2 years ago. I could be wrong though..

Good point. You definitely don't win that many in a row, not to mention 69-70 regular season games over a 7-year period without a solid coaching staff. Our coaching staff pulled off 41 consecutive regular season wins to close out the 90s, so I definitely respect what your's has accomplished.
