Concerning number of OVERALL TVC Championships, there is a HUGE asterisk out to the side of many of Trimble's championships since joining the Hocking Division in 1993. There is no question Trimble was the best league team in a particular sport when winning championships between 1978-1993 in the old unified TVC, but most Hocking Championships would not have come if they were in the Ohio Division. Trimble would not have won any football championships in the 1990's for example if they were in the Ohio Division. Granted, there have been years this decade when Trimble could very well have won the Ohio in football and I think Trimble could have won some girls basketball championships with Grandy those few years.

I'm not trying to bash the Hocking Division here - I'm just stating that in most sports in most years - the Ohio Division champion is stronger than the Hocking Division champion.

Trimble should always have been in the Ohio Division in my opinion because they were always able to be competative against the Ohio schools before the league split into divisions.

Wow you are title town TVC because you voted 25 times under different names. Belpre, Nelsonville,Alexander,Southern,Eastern,Waterford,Meigs I know have all been to the state in some sport. What sport did you make it to the state in?

Now i know these votes may be bias, judgeing by the votes right now id say there are just more people with namesfrom trimble, even if u take half of those votes away trimble still has it. Not every vote is from a trimble fan. remember, in football, the championship runs through glouster, 9 out of 10 years if u beat trimble u got the tvc. Just like NyBuckeye96 wrote, football matters most in peoples minds.

Looks like the consensus from all the posters from different areas is that it would go to Belpre. I would have to go with Belpre as well.

In the Hocking, I would say the most consistent winners would have to be Federal Hocking. Do they ever have an off year?

Who has had the most Hocking championships?

I think we should just give it to Trimble. It does seem to mean so much more to them...

Just curious, when was the last time Trimble or NY won the TVC in a major boys sport (football, basketball, baseball) other than football?

baseball is not a major sport. nor is track. that is why it is cant be ferd hack. in basketball i think koondogger has been coaching 4 years and i am pretty sure he won one. if not, holbert won one the year before koons took over. i think the voters have spoken. the ones voting for trimble know they need to say nothing, just vote, so that is why they don't get on here and argue. so it seems it is much more important to those that get on here and argue about why it should not be trimble. but hey were used to that here in titletown tvc.

Thanks for the insight. I guess I never really looked at it that way... I guess Trimble obviously has more titles than anyone. Just not many in the last 5 years...

i dont see where it is asked how many, or how recently titles were won? maybe i missed something. but since you mentioned it trimble just won in football, and basketball isnt over yet so who knows about that. as for the minor sports of track and baseball/softball i dont know.

Green Bay was listed on the espn version and they dont exactly have much to offer outside of football so I dont think it matters how many sports they win in just many titles they have...

Lol, what title? Congratulations, their are more SEOPer's from Glouster than any other TVC city or county. You should be proud. But, baseball is one of the most popular sports in the world, to say it is not a major sport is absurd.

they say it is the most popular because they play like a thousand games a season and they add up all the fans and compare that to the 16 football games a season. but that is the pros anyway. i am talking about high school. which is what the tvc is. how popluar is it in high school? just count how many fans are at the next high school baseball game and that will answer your question. you will probably only need 9 of your fingers to count them.

I agree totally with you Hardrock21 and I am not from Belpre. You and I both know that deep down they know too...It's Belpre. But I have to admit this thread has been fun to watch.
