MisterB, do you happen to have the list of who won the league in each of those sports every season? That would make for some great information on a TVC Website.

In order to circumvent the Smoke Free legislation in Ohio, The Shingle Inn has become a private club. In order to be a member, you must smoke, you must be a member of SEOpreps, be able to type at least eight words a minute, be able to put together a written communication with a Flesch score of 2.2, and swear yourself to secrecy that you have no knowledge of any of this.
Oh, and now they have an internet "cafe'" in the Shingle, no bottles or cans allowed, plastic cups only. Before you know it, they will have WiFi and you can visit with your laptop, as long as you have it chained to your body..........
All in the spirit of stuffing the ballot boxes (polls) on SEOpreps, and fooling all of us that Trouble is Titletown TVC

Mister B wrote:Here is what I have compiled for the 117 TVC titles that Belpre has through 2004...
Boys Track - 22
Football - 11
Baseball - 8
Golf - 13
Boys Basketball - 12
Wrestling - 13
Boys Cross Country - 11
Girls Basketball - 6
Softball - 4
Girls Track - 5
Volleyball - 7
Girls Cross Country - 1
Girls Track - 2
Quiz team - 2 (I don't think Trimble was even eligible for this)
1969-1979 - 31 titles
1980-1989 - 34 titles
1990- 1999 - 35 titles
2000-2004 - 17 titles
I will compile 2005 to current sometime this weekend.
The little one sided election was pretty clever but the trophy case is what really matters.

Re: Titletown TVC
I am not a fan of Belpre or Trimble, but I don't see where this was a contest of the number of TVC championships. Nor was the original show, "Titletown USA." If I am not mistaken it was posted who do you think of when think of championships. If it is just a matter of the number of championships won I would guess it would have been an easy contest. But it wasn't stated that way. Me personally, I think of Nelsonville York. They win football every year, and for a while won wrestling every year. Those are the two sports I watch most. So in my opinion Titletown would be NY. Even though I am a Meigs fan.

No, I don't.
However, I would think that it would be recorded in the minutes of the TVC meetings throughout the years.

First of all there is no such thing. But I will have my say . I would have to say by History you have to go with Belpre and Nelsonville . If you think of this there have only been three teams in southeast Ohio win State titles in football and one of them resides in the TVC N-Y . I would have to give the Buckeyes the slight edge just for that. I am going on Football for my selections ,because after all its football (American)that rules the sports world.
Now for my take on Glouster . I went to the MVL arcives and found out they own the longest losing streak in that league at 35 in a row. That to me eleminates them right there. I know Nelsonville struggled in the SEOAL as did Meigs ,Wellston but NEVER 35 losses in a row.I think that the SEOAL and the MVL are very compairible leagues.

I do know that Nelsonville once posted a football record of 4-96-2 over a sixteen year period in the SEOAL.
Not exactly Titletown there.
Mr. B, 117 titles is impressive. Like I said, you have to think of Belpre when you think of titles.

Trimble made it to the state golf tournament in 2002. How can people not consider baseball a major sport? I do especially since Trimble has made it to the sweet 16 5 or 6 times since the late 90's and to the elite 8 in 99
Re: Titletown TVC
Are we talking titles recently?
Also, football, basketball, and baseball are the major sports in the United States.
Who else in the TVC has two or more TVC titles in ALL three major sports in the last 10 years?
I know Federal Hocking. Who else?
Last 10 years...
Football -2
Basketball - 4 ?
Baseball - 7
So unless I missed something somewhere, that is 13 in the major sports during the last 10 years. Can someone match or top it, while also having multiple titles in all three?

Re: Titletown TVC
While Belpre doesn't have 2 or more titles in the big 3 sports in the last 10 years, we do have at least 1 championship in each one.
Football - 2007.
Baseball - 2003.
Boys Basketball - 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004.
We did that with basically the same size enrollment as Federal Hocking and we played in the Ohio division, not the Hocking.
I think Belpre knocked the TVC Hocking baseball champs (Federal Hocking) out of the state tourney a couple of those years too.
