Sounds like someone has been promised a coaching position.

What color of pom-poms match the zebra stripes there, 14er?

gahs4ever wrote:Interesting. Is it just possible that the alledged "going down hill BIG TIME" coincides with the league being stronger than ever before? We never beat Ironton even in the DJ years or the 99 regional finalists, so little change there. We never played Chillicothe until just before the expansion and they have had a nice run of athletes. We have more than held our own against Portsmouth, and we only played Zanesville once; losing 12-0.

We went 5-5 this past year when many of the so-called experts were predicting 3 wins at most in the preseason. Where I come from they call that overachieving. Logan is in the midst of one of their best runs in their proud history. I dont see anyone else in the SEOAL beating them either. Is the entire league "going down hill BIG TIME" as well? Our only two wins over Logan in the last dozen or so years came 7-3 at home on a Cole Haggerty INT runback, and DJ's senior year, so if we are "going down hill BIG TIME," it has been happening for quite a while now.

We won the league three years in a row as recently as 2003, and have won a playoff game as recently as 2006. But then if you take away the three in a row league championships, that means we have only won 13 in the first 75 years, so the "going down hill" has been going on since 1925.

Prior to 1999, GAHS only made the playoffs twice in school history (1985-86) with zero wins, and since 1999 made it seven times, winning five games. Me thinks we have gotten so spoiled at our recent success that we think making the playoffs and wining the league is our birthright. That along with some unhappy parents who think 5-5 represents "going down hill BIG TIME."

To go down hill necessarily means you had to at one time have gone UP the hill. It takes two hills to make one valley. I can make a long list of teams in SE Ohio who would give anything to go 5-5.

Good post 4ever!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone talked to a BOE member? I would say that between them and the administration they are getting close on a decision.

Boy this job has been kept hush hush. Besides some comical names being thrown out, no realistic names have been mentioned. Any word on who is really the leading candidates?
