Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
Great post. Yeah, that would be hard to argue. When you have a Kretzer, Utley, and Brisker on the 3rd team, and then Cunningham and Stegman as 2nd teamers. Wow! This has been a great year for this conference.
I'm not looking to argue any of it, and I think Barrick and Persin are 2 of my favorite coaches, BUT I have watched Valley's heart and style match up perfectly with the players on their team this year. And for 1 year, I think Villinger has done a very good job with this team. I think they overachieved as a team because of their style and tenacity. I would have him as coach of the year.
I also sure hope my nephew T. Cunningham will make all conference. He has played hurt all year and has helped this team go. I know there are great players at all the schools and I agree with the list of soccerfix for the most part.
Some others not mentioned are Loop from SWebster. Bricker from West and Arbaugh from Valley.

How many make the 1st team? I know it's in order of how you finish in league play but I can't remember the number.
Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
Just post your selections. The real league selection process is a farce.

First of all I have Cunningham and Bricker on my second team and if I would have given honorable mentions, Arbaugh, Scott from SW, and Roback would have been there. So much talent in the unappreciated SOC 2.

Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
There was a post about an all Freshman varsity SOC team and they were looking for a fifth player. The fifth player would be Tyler Noel from Notre Dame, at last print in the PDT he was the fourth leading rebounding in the county and has had to match up with most of the teams big man in games.
Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
After the game i watched tonight, I will place Zach Utley high on my 1st team. A great game tonight from him. I think he put up 44 and 32 in the first half.

Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
Utley was amazing tonight, no doubt about it. Best individual performance that I can remember. He had really struggled about the last 6-8 games coming into tonight. He was having a tough time getting his shots within the flow of the game and it led to some forced shot. But tonight everything was in rythm, it was smooth, and the kid was locked in. Top notch performance! Great game Zach!

Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
Fungo7 I certianly agree I would put Noel on the all freshman team. I have seen him play and I totally forgot about him - he is going to be a dandy. It seems like this year is a very good one for the freshman and the next four years should be good!
Kelly-Waverly
Kretzer-Waverly
Whitley-Burg
Noel-Notre Dame
Yates-Valley
How would you like to coach those five?

First off, Stegman is not a true center. He is more of a power forward and to put him on the second team is a joke. He is one of the top 5 players in the league, no matter what position.

burg grad 77- I agree, I think soccerfix may have lost his mind on that - Stegman is 1st team all the way.
Re: First Team All SOC if you were part of the media
soccerfix might change his mind after watching Stegman beat up on his Waverly Tigers on Friday night.
