Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
They put their franchise tag on their place kicker. Anymore questions why I would divorce such a pathetic franchise?

They are bad for a lot of reasons. First and foremost the ownership is horrible. second the coaching staff has made bad decision after bad desision and the players just don't care any more.

By doing that now they can get rid of ALL their good players. This seems to be par for course with the Bengals and the Reds.
Our only hope is for the owners of the Bengals and the Reds to sell the Franchises and get some owners that know what the heck they are doing.

Re: Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
With the Bengals, you have a team that has no general manager, and an owner that
thinks he knows football.
The only difference between the Raiders front office and the Bengals, is at one
point Al Davis knew football. Mike Brown has never been in the same building
as his dad for football knowledge, let alone the same class.
In a league that is designed to see everyone go 8-8 and seperate the good from the bad from there,
if Mike Brown knew anything about football he could have a playoff contender every year.
He doesn't need to keep TJ, but it sure would help.
He needs to get rid of Chad Johnson, for a late round pick and depth on the O or D line.
He needs to draft from the line of scrimmage out, if we draft another D-Back in rounds 1-3 I'll scream.
He needs to get a solid runner, not great, but solid.
Drafting and building an O-line would immediatly help Palmer, and the running game.
How he can't realize this, is beyond me.
Never mind, when it all comes down to it, he'll stay the same and collect a
revenue sharing check from the NFL, that he doesn't have to share with anyone else.
If the fans stop coming to the games in protest, he'll threaten to move the team. LA could use a
franchise. The Bengals don't have the history, so the NFL isn't going to give in and give them
an expansion team, like they did the Browns.
So the fans will still sell out the stadium, Mike Brown will still collect his check, and the Bengals will
continue to be bad-average at best.
In a small market, with the revenue sharing plan the NFL has, being a winner isn't as profitable!

All is not lost; even the Bidwell's made it to the Super Bowl and came within 30 seconds of winning it all. Even a blind squirrell...................

Bengals are not going anywhere. Baltimore tried already . They took the browns instead.

Browns had to leave Cleveland just to make it to the Superbowl,
when they did they won it though. Of course they weren't playing against the
80's 49ers though.

Arizona made it to the Superbowl inspite of the Bidwells, not because of them.

Uhh....that's what I meant by my post. Even idiots can win the lottery. So..Cincinnati and Cleveland can hope that the law of averages will allow them to win the Super Bowl before the Sun swells up and swallows the Earth in about 5 billion years!
Re: Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
Mike Brown in the front office. Need I say more, he should let his daughter run the football operations and just maybe the Bungals would start playing like pros and quit bit435ng.
Re: Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
Poor marvin Lewis. He could have been Mike Tomlin, but he went to a cancerous franchise and now he is one of them.
Re: Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
At least he didnt make a bigger mistake and went north in ohio.

Coles is a decent receiver.
If Carson stays healthy and they have a semblance of a running game then they have a chance.
Remember....how many picked Arizona to do well last year.

Re: Wonder why the Bengals are awful?
your kicker can win and lose you games your kicker can be your franchise's top scorer
Adam Vinateri helped out the kicker's case for their importance. Kickers are way more valuable now especially the ones with the big leg cuz a 55 yard OT winner is alot sweeter then having to punt and go on defense with a chance to lose the game

The Bengals are in need of more than just a coach.
They need to get rid of Marvin Lewis, find tackles who care to block, get a decent running back in the draft, like say Chris Wells, and they need a defense to back up the offense when they put points on the board every once in a while.
all IMO

Ther D was much improved last year. I think they were ranked around 12th in the NFL. They would have had 4 more wins with Palmer in there still not where they should be with there talent but it would have been better.
