Well Fairland should win easily if that is the case. I might be wrong but I don't think Andy has ever scored 30 points in a game. So everyone has held him under 30 points so far. I wouldn't think that Fairland would be any different.

I am pretty sure he hasn't had 30 points this year as well Dr. Rabbit. I don't think Fairland will be much different than Minford or Valley. Both those teams have speed and Burg beat Minford twice and beat Valley once and lost to them on a last second shot....I see Burg handling them just fine..tempo tempo tempo..that will be the name of Burg's game.

Sometimes people think Burg stalls and just holds the ball but I see it differently. I believe the reason they have this image is because they play solid defense (nothing easy) and they have good shot selection (dont force shots early in possession). I have seen them push the ball against teams when the opportunity is there and off turnovers. They also slow the game down by making the other team work to get decent shots.

Only one team scored in the 60's against the Burg all year and that was Portsmouth. Like was said above, Burg plays good, solid defense and they work the ball to get a good open shot. Sure they are going to see a 2-3 zone in every game, but if someone can get hot from the outside, that can play right into the Pirates offense.

I don't think there was a better team around with a run n gun offense than Valley and Burg held them down scoring wise in both games. THey won the first game by double digits and IMO they should have won the second game as well. Didn't take care of the ball down the stretch.

I saw both Fairland and Wheelersburg play Chesapeake this year.. Based on these two games, it will be a very good, enjoyable evening for the fans to watch......Should be a close one.... Rebounding and turnovers will tell the tale.

Haven't heard the status of the injuried and sick players for Fairland yet.

I hope by Saturday all the boys are well and ready to play.

For you senior boys, this may or may not be your last game in your high school years - so go out there and give it everything you've got.

Goodluck to all the boys on the team - I hope everyone steps up like they did against Wellston.

GOODLUCK DRAGONS - BEAT WHEELERSBURG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Burg fans are hoping for the same thing for your seniors. :-D

Good luck to both teams.

Fairland has been up and down this winter. The 'Burg' has been more consistant. Watched Fairland early in scrimmages, and watched Pirates dismantle GAHS late. I'd have to go with WHS in this one, but it could be a good hard-fought contest by both teams.

i dont understand this either..
it makes alot of sense when you have alot of speed.
i just know that when other teams try to press us bloomfield usually just blows by them and takes it in for a lay up or finds gody n berry for an open layup..
but we dont see the press often.

BG 77 had a nice post on the Valley thread earlier, and I want to echo those same thoughts this way. Good luck to the Pirates tonight. Bring back another sectional. I'm friends with Kemper's dad so I'll be hoping for a good game from Nick. Hoping for no injuries from either team. Go SOC

This game is going to be a great one! Play your hearts out there Burg so you can move onto the convo with a chance to play North Adams. Good luck Fairland from the Burg! Hope this is a smooth game with little effects from the refs or anything else. GO BURG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing, I liked the post about playing with class. Man that speaks for a lot. I believe that was a Fairland fan, I am glad to see there a still good fans out there too that want to see the players play hard but with CLASS.

Burg needs a strong 4th quarter to pull this one out

Valley was also losing at halftime 42-36 to westfall
