If I am not mistaken, Burg took its first lead with 5:37 to play in the game 35-34 but two costly turnovers back to back and Fairland making free throws down the stretch was the difference.

Coach Barrick and Coach Massie did a tremendous job with a very young team this year. I think every single Burg fan would have been ecstatic at the beginning of the year if it was said you would finish 16-6 on the year. I enjoyed the season and look forward to next year.

I agree Mike. I remember us talking across the fence right before the season began and saying they'd be lucky to win 11 or 12 games with the youth and inexperience they had. Incredible season and I look forward to next year since everyone is back.

he did say, New Boston would be our only boys team to play at the Convo this year :122246 :122246

he must know something the rest of us dont know yet

Are you sure it was Roger? I don't recall seeing him there. I saw Snuffy.

If it wasn't for NB playing East, this might have been the first year in a long time that no one from Scioto county made it to the convo.

I want to say first, congrats to Fairland. Also, congrats to Burg on a fine season. Now, the subject above. Of all the seasons I've seen BBall in Scioto County, this one would have been the one I would have picked as many as 6 or maybe 7 teams playing in the Convo. I can't believe it went this bad this week. I don't know for sure, but I wonder if we just beat each other up? I doubt that's really what happened though, tough games should make you stronger. This is really a testament to the good teams outside Scioto Co.. Oh well, I just wouldn't have thought it would have went that way this year.

I like listening to the post game on the radio to get the coaches take. The one thing that really urks me is when the burg wins Barrick will talk about the game but when they lose they can't find Barrick or he won't talk on the air. Other coaches talk, win or lose, but Barrick will only talk when they win. Why is that?

I have to say that it is always sweet beating The Burg in anything because their athletic programs are always so good top to bottom! This is a BIG win for the Dragons,And thank all of you Burg fans for being so gracious in a losing cause! ;-) We love to beat you guys but that probably why we do because you guys are so classy even in defeat!

How often do they ever talk to the losing coach? When local teams play each other they never interview the losing coach as far as I remember. If your that interested in Barricks thoughts on the game I am sure he will be on the radio next sat morning. Your comment reminds me more of some posters on here really, talk smack leading up to the game then after their team gets beat they disappear.

Man, you know what, you need to just chill. Your main oblective right now should be discussing who is going to be the next coach at Minford, as it looks like Copley has had enough out there. You just need to get over the fact that Burg has beaten Minford in football and basketball on a consistent basis over the last few years and you can't seem to get over it. You have not seen one Burg fan on here claiming that got cheated or anything to that nature. They are all congratulating Fairland and wishing them luck against NA. We all in Burgland knew that this would be a tough game for the young Pirates and if they won, that would have just been another plus to this season. They were a young squad with only ONE player with any major varsity experience at all, yet they still were able to go 16-6, finish 2nd in the SOC and oh yeah, wait for it, THEY BEAT YOUR FALCONS TWICE THIS YEAR.

Like fbnut said, when have they ever asked a losing coach for an interview. Your just searching for something to start some crap over and I think this time your immaturity is going to bite you in the butt because I bet you I won't be the last one to rip you on this subject.

Being a true Burg fan, I'll take that as a huge compliment. We all knew that this was going to be a tough one to win and Fairland came out and got the job done. Good luck to your Dragons next Sunday against NA. Fairland might just have the quickness to be able to play with NA. I think we all realized here in Burgland that this young team wasn't going to go far, but it would have just been nice for them to get a taste of the atmosphere at the Convo. The only ones that have played any minutes there at all are Stegman, Lang and Kemper. Burg will be back and also be very strong next year. They will still be young but will have a year of varsity ball under there belt.

The dragons are going back to the Convo for the 4th yr. in a row. This game was closer than it should've been. IMO the dragons had more energy when they played man to man but when Goodby got into foul trouble they had no choice. The dragons are going to have to rebound better to beat NA. It was nice to see and talk to trojan dave last night and Dave our coach said all I needed was a hat like you. They said you really worked on yours against NA. I hope to see more people supporting our boys at the Convo than showed up last night. Wheelersburg will be a force the next 2 years. Stegman is a heck of a player and will only get better.

take it easy on him. It's has to be frustrating losing to your rival ,sport after sport, year after year. Look at baseball last yr, the falcon faithful thought they finally had the team to knock off the big bad burg and then your team gets spanked by what was it 39-2 or something like that. That has to just eat at you.

Marshallman, why dont you give Coach Barrick a call and ask him yourself? I am sure your opinion means so much to him that he couldnt wait to talk to you. While you are at it, you probably would like to discuss X's and O's with him as well. BTW, did you even play the game of basketball in high school or coach?

I'm sure Coach Barrick was a lot more concerned about consoling his team that has just lost a tough game than he was talking to Snuffy. Like Mike said, if you are so concerned about what he had to say Marshallman then give him a call at the school on Monday and ask him yourself.

I'm sure Tom would be more than glad to give you a piece of his mind.

Congrats Fairland! Proud of your effort. Keep it up at the convo!! We're all rooting for you guys.

Both teams played well and it was a great game for fans on both sides to watch. Barrick seems to be someone who brings the best out of his players. That's the markings of a great coach. Sounds like he did that this year according to the Burg posters and early season expectations. Burg should be proud of their efforts, too.

My question pertains to the fact that Snuffy or Gray keep saying "we are trying to get TB up here to talk but it doesn't look like hes coming up." Copley would speak after every win or loss. Burg tied for second in the SOC and most all the teams finished with a record around 15-6 or 16-5 except for Oak Hill. My question had nothing to do with being cheated. Give me TB # and I'll call him.
