from what i read this is more than a scrimmage but less than a game (?). this may be last minute so keep up the posts. gallia is a good game for meigs but they have always had our number. this would be a real challenge and show our kids A. what they can do and B. what they need to do better.

btw the talley now shows that vinton has more votes than meigs.
some one needs to vote alexander at least once. heck they have a chance. doesn't anyone on here live in albany?

Meigs always "underachieves" due to the high expectaions every year from their supportres. Every year we hear they will compete and rarely do win anything.

meigs has generally always competed vikes. that is uncalled for. i can not remember a meigs team that was not in the top 2-3 in the tvc. comming off their first ever play-off game i think they deserve some credit. you need to go back to the basketball thread.

Meigs is alot Like Wellston in football . They usually are competitive in the TVC . This year will be no different, they will be fighting with NY in a three way fight for the title ...IMO

For Wellston to win the TVC they will prolly have to win at Nelsonville. I think Meigs has NY in Pomeroy, so I like their chances better. Athens also has NY at home, so they have a chance as well.

I know I am repeating myself, the championship goes thru Nelsonville, but I do not see them winning it this year. If the tailback from Meigs stays healthy and the Wells and young Bolin hook up, the Marauders may be very hard to outscore, but their defense has been suspect also. I think Wellston will be in the mix as well. Athens and Nelsonville may determine who wins the league but I dont think they themselves will. I think Nelsonville playing Meigs and Athens on the road makes it a more difficult task for them, but not impossible. Just a fan who likes to play the guessing game, fun stuff. No disrespect to anybody intended.

so Meigs underachieves when they make playoffs for the first time in school history? i dont think so. But we know those vikings are always overachievers. I bet they'll even score a touchdown this year. Definitely more than expected.

what is all this talk about meigs' defence? i do not get it. meigs' d last year was out shined by their o only because the o was really, really good. guy, this team is the 1st in school history to make the play-offs and took the team that stomped ironton to a really good game. in my book that means they must have been really good. these guys lost to nelsonville, at nelsonville during the possiblly best game by their best ( and maybe the whole TVC's) player. and even then it came down to 1 play.

excuse my language but they where pretty darn good.

Hmmm...interesting, Meigs doesn't have a TVC-Ohio Championship in this decade. Looks to me that Wellston, Belpre and VC has had Meigs number.

N-Y won the TVC-Ohio in 2008, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2001

Wellston won the TVC-Ohio in 2002 and 2001

Belpre won the TVC-Ohio in 2007

The QB for Miegs throws a very nice ball. This year is interesting,I look for Wellston to take it this year since NY can not run the ball every time,even though they haven't passed in quite some years cause they couldn't except for the occasional deep ball,but this year theirs no surprise and if you shut the run game down there done.

Athens can compete for the top it all really just depends on the summer they have, a lot of youth in big time spots,but a lot of experience on the line. If they can polish up the Tailback spot and the Linebacker spot,they'll do just fine.

their overall record of those years is better than some teams ahead in the tvc. as i see it meigs has had maybe 2 down years. i believe if we are gonna cast some stones, 2 years ago belpre lost 1 game ( to meigs by a lot) and nelsonville played a kid they shouldn't and forfeited. vinton has not finished last only because alexander has constantly been terrible and wellston along with meigs has finished in the top 1/2. oh and by the way, we didn't get beat by logan's fresmen 60-0.
