Brent Wilcoxin (79 "AA" State Champs)
Starting QB (79,80) Record 19-1-2
Junior season won "AA" State Championship 10-0-1
Senior season Regional Finals 9-1-1
SEOAL Champs 79, Co Champs with Jackson 80
His only loss as starting QB was to New Concord John Glen 20-7 in the Regional Finals 1980. Two ties were to Washington Court House 13-13 (79) and Jackson 7-7 (80).

Ryan Guthrie
26-2 as a starter and the only quarterback in Ironton history to lead his team to back to back state championship appearances (1992,1993). MVP of the North South game in 1994.

Ryan Guthrie also had the best left hand.
If you are just talking records....Mark Snyder was 23-1 in two years as Ironton quarterback. A 21-14 loss to Akron St V StM. was his only blemish at Ironton. Really ran the option well.
Mark Lutz had a big big senior year, dropping only the state title game again to ST ST M., 14-12. Great arm in high school and very good success.

AJ was the most talented Qb. He could run and had a shotgun for an arm. I still remember him catching Carlos Snow from behind when they played as Soph. that was IHS first time playing CAPE. IMO AJ should've started at QB that year over Ryan Ainsworth.

If you are talking about the 1984 CAPE game, i dont remember Carlos Snow getting ran down too often. he had 300+ yards rushing in that game. AJ had a good game offensively, but Carlos and Poole ran wild unfortunately.
