Re: Minford High School coach resigns
Kind of surprising as Minford didn't have that bad of a year. Was he feeling pressure from the administration or something? I remember a few Minford posters on here complaining about him, but nothing major.*
Re: Minford High School coach resigns
I heard he just wanted more time for family and kids.Thats understandable. The sport takes a lot of time away from family. Its about a year round job anymore if you do it right

That is what I believe was the reason. Good Luck Coach Copley on your future endeavors and thanks for your service to Minford Basketball.
Re: Minford High School coach resigns
Wouldn't it be cool to see a coach quit and say they are quitting because they are sick of the parents riding them all the time. ha!
Re: Minford High School coach resigns
Well lets just continue the pipeline from the SSU women bench to the Minford Bench. Lets bring in Todd Perdas! I'm shocked no one has taken a shot at this young man.....

Re: Minford High School coach resigns
Not sure why the Coach resigned, but I like to see this done early. This gives Minford time to get a proper search going and get something done before the summer is upon the kids.
Good luck to Minford in their search. It is tough to find good and committed coaches in todays world due to the pressures of winning, parents, kids attitudes, adminstration, etc. Our coaches do not get enough credit, but they sure do get to much grief. Hopefully that was not the situation at Minford.

Re: Minford High School coach resigns
I heard also about coach Copley quitting to spend more time with his family. Great guy and I wish him the best of luck.
I think minford should give Todd Perdas a real good look. He has helped coach two teams to great records the past two years and the national tournament. Definitely knows the game and I think would be a great fit. He's a local guy too that knows the area.

Good luck to coach Copley.
I always said my next coaching job would be at an orphanage.

...then you'd always have "the State" as your only parent......
Yes but the funding for new uniforms should be no problem.

Minford may have to wait on making a hire because of teaching positions. Coach Copley did not work at Minford and the BOE may have to wait until they know who will be moving to other schools, retiring or not being hired back. Good luck Kyle.

Re: Minford High School coach resigns
I could handle haggling the state for uniform money, and because it would be an orphange it would be Red White and Blue Baby just like the Trojans. Well maybe in my own design.
Don't forget that I grew up in the East End of Portsmouth. Doesn't get any more hard knocks then that.

Why doesn't Marshallman take the job. He get's on here and spouts off like he knows everything there is to know about all sports.

Re: Minford High School coach resigns
From what I saw, from the outside looking in, I thought Coach copley did a good job at Minford. His teams always played hard and never caused any problems. Hopefully he has started something at Minford that will continue on with the next coach. I don't know anything about he Perdas kid, but if he is good enough to hang around with Robin Hagen for a couple of years, he has to be doing something right. Are there any assistants from this years team capable of taking over the helm?

...and I bet you'd want me to be his assistant so you could make more fat jokes!

Tobias, I apologize for that remark I made to you yesterday. I took it to far and for that I am sorry. I was in a foul mood and I shouldn't have taken it out on you.
Re: Minford High School coach resigns
always good to see posters kissing and making up. see above. good luck to coach copley. however, rare to see a coach leave because he's sick of the garbage. always to spend more time with family. either way good luck.
