Popcorn you are to nosey. If my handle says viking grad then leave it at that. Just keep the subjects to softball and everyone will be fine.

You seem to have taken offense to what I had to say. To bad. I might even see you at the thunder in the valley trourny.

Viking Grad as far as your concerned.

Good luck ladies,

It seems everytime someone says something about Clay you come back with comments about the Viking girls that makes it look like you are trying to stir things up with our girls. Are you sure you are not actually from Clay or down towards Portsmouth. I was at the Ashland game and stood right by the dugout and did not hear anything at all like a war zone. Plus Odie did not say anything after the game because he was not at the game!

Please list your true location and then change your name to where you actually came from!!!!

Popcorn, a true Viking !

Is there trouble in Viking land already this season? Even the fans are fighting with each other. Hate to see that from such a storied program.

You need to practice what you preach instead of trying to cause trouble on the vikings squad! Please wear a shirt at at the tournament to identify yourself! I will drop the subject and only focus on the girls playing good softball. How about you doing the same.

Find a hobby!

Why cant we all just get along- it doesnt matter who showed up and played and who didnt- we showed up and yes it was cold- but our girls wanted to play ball- like coach bailey always says we will play anyone, anyplace at anytime, softball is softball you have to get it why you can- and if you want to get better you will play the S.V. tournament against some top notch teams- if you dont stay home- we'll play without you ;-) (not meant towards anyone just facts)

This got way off course....
How did this go from Valley of Thunder to the War Zone?
I merely stated a few facts...never gave any names ...
nor did I mention any TEam names.....

The tournament is always a success...lets get back to that....
We will get to watch some great games....eat brown beans, cornbread, and
dont forget a roasted hog.
We are talking about a school coming down that has approx. 900 some
girls in the school. SV , Green, Clay, could combine and still not have that many girls to pick a squad from.
Think about it......
SV has about 130 to 140 girls in the entire High School.
I cant wait .....
MOOD STATUS by the way.......FAIR

Suggestion for Thunder in the Valley----rent some portable potty's for this tournament. Needed to use the mens room and couldn't get in for players in there trying to use the bathroom before game or during game. Way too many people there for just a couple stalls in each restroom. Other then that it was a great event. Some really great softball games. Anyone know what game went 12 innings? Missed that one but must have been a great defensive game with some good pitching as well. Can anyone give info on games?

Agree with the portable pots. That would have been great to have had down there.

I know that the Alexander vs Russell Ky. game went 12 innings. With Alex coming out on top 5-4. Not sure if anyone else went that many innings or not. It was a great game by two very good teams. We heard that the Russell team was undefeated until that game. Neither team was willing to throw in the town when the umpires were discussing calling it because it was starting to get dark. They only needed one more inning to finish the game. Nice job ladies!

Hats off to the grounds crew this weekend. They did an awesome job getting the fields ready with all the rain they had. A very well ran tournament with some highly competitive games.

the first game was against alexander and the final was 4-1 with lexey kegley getting the win and striking out 12, the girls hit the ball decently also.
the second game was won 17-1 with alex phipps pitching a great game and adding 2 homeruns "one of them a grandslam" to help her cause.
west is starting to come on strong and play the way theyre capable of playing.

All who commented on the need for porta-potties are correct. We discussed it on Saturday during the games that we had dropped the ball in not having them on hand for the crowd. After the rain on Friday night the weather on Saturday was great. We really had alot of talent on hand for some great softball. It is really a good experience seeing some of the teams from around the state come to Lawrence county and compete against our local teams.
Maybe next year we might even have cell phone service out there. LOL. It is always amusing to see all the girls come off the buses and the first thing they do is flip out their cell phones and start asking if anyone else has a signal!
Everything as a whole went good except for a few balls being deposited into Symmes Creek by some power hitters on Field 3. The brown beans were great again this year as always and the roasted pig was enjoyed by everyone. Thanks go to George Sander on the beans and Chris Thompson for donating the pig and Mike Wall for cooking it. Thanks to all the parents who donated their time to help make it a sucess.
Hats off to Odie Estep for his 300th win and another great "Valley of Thunder" weekend! :aaaaa41

Any teams wanting to take part in next years "Valley of Thunder" can contact Odie at [email protected]
