Actually 3rd in the stateinduct chuck wrote:ND's opponents in the first five games have a combined 9 wins. Minford's have a combined 10. I'm almost certain Notre Dame is the smallest school in the state to field a team, and I'm pretty sure they have been since St. Joe's got rid of football in the early 90's. Enrollment wise, they don't play down. In the past three weeks, ND has: traveled several hours to play and beat a solid D. 5 school, lost to the best team D.4 Northwest has had in a while by a yard, and snapped a fourteen game FCA regular season win streak. This years schedule isn't as hard as last year's, but it compares very well with the other schools in SOC I. Through five games, S.V. opponents have 8 wins and East opponents have 11. So if ND has a cupcake schedule, so does precious Minford, East, and Symmes Valley.

You definitely can argue that. And we have, and IMO we have rather effectively.Bleeding Red wrote:I don't think so MouthyDan. It's been a very easy schedule so far and you can't argue that. I wish ND well this year. I predicted a ND win tomorrow so dont get all bent out of shape. Good luck against those "toughies" coming up!ManitouDan wrote:wow , facts are building up against your case bleeder , you better punt .

competing , and competing well with 37 total boys in the school . impressive. unless you are part of the family you really just don't understand the committment and passion for ND football. great families , great kids and a great football team... which we support win or lose. MD

You are so right MD. Unless you are there you have no idea what ND is all about. If memory serves me correctly, when ND had a good football program back in the early to mid 90's, they didnt have a big enrollment. Fact is they started scheduling easy and it turned into 3 straight 0-10's followed up with 3 more years under .500. Maybe the administration saw the big depletion in talent long before and tried to hide it.
Thinking Northwest and Fairfield Christian are tough opponents shows that you have been lulled to sleep with the lack of talent on their schedule for over a decade.
Anywho, good luck against Manchester.

Re: Week 6 (4-1) Notre Dame @ (0-5) Manchester
Notre Dame was 10-0 in 1989, 1996, and 2000, but I don't recall any stellar teams besides that. The seniors who graduated last year had a career record of 21-20, which was actually the best record of a graduating class since the mid 90's. The program had 16 players in 2001. They played for several years under a coach who could hardly be considered competent, going 0-fer for several years. But hey, now that ND is doing decently well, it can't be that there is an uptick in talent or that players are finally buying in to Notre Dame football again. No, they are just playing a cupcake schedule. Good luck this week. Work on winning a game or two and you might actually get ranked ahead of Northwest, the "cupcake" team we played who is ahead of you in the points standings right now.

The Notre Dame team and family is having a great time this season.
We appreciate our 6th place ranking in our region. The scheduling has been appropriate for us and the size school we are. This is a good year to be a Titan --- even when we have had our down years we stay supportive and together as a family.
We have a great and respectful coaching staff that represent themselves and our school well in the community.
Additionally, we have a great school with excellent academics, priests, teachers and students. A great place to be.
We will have our peaks and valleys --- as will everyone else. We need to keep scheduling smart.
BR -- I am glad you have come over to this thread to spread your sunshine -- it is obvious you have an interest in Notre Dame. I am also truly glad you are part of the Minford Community and hope you remain in that region and help them for years to come --- I am sure they feel blessed also. :-).

The "fun bunch" played most of the 2nd half for ND. Good experience for those young men who are mostly freshman and do not have any JV games this year.
