Pali - Jackson will beat Alder. Proves your theory wrong.

Really hope we get to play Alder. Would they be favored?..yep

It will be a good game if we both get that far. They won't be at home like 7 of their first 11 games.

This wasn't the ugliest season in SEOAL history.
Check out these links to SEOAL standings from 1925-2003. Interesting read. Compiled by Jottings. Site belongs to Blue Steel.

Paladin

Tough crowd here... you are right :122245

Just because Rosecrans plays bigger schools does not mean its a killer schedule, there are a lot of mediocre big schools out there  I forgot Division II powers Marietta and Riverview were on there schedule this year.

You might want to stay with your Northern Powers when talking about scheduling. If Rosecrans wins 2 or 3 games in the playoffs then they will be considered a good team this year. First, they need to get by a D6 school in the playoffs that they lost to in the regular season.

Paladin_II wrote:I believe I still own the best yearly record at the school .... 8-1 and a league Championship with a final Top Ten position in the polls. That last game loss was on the road at a D-II school by a 12-8 score and we missed ( not by much) an unbeaten season, which RHS has never had. Depends on what you call a power -- playing lots of D-II and D-III teams as a D-VI doesn't count, especially when you are winning most of those games ? 6-4 this year against that killer schedule ? Tough crowd here....................lol

Logan , bless them, played better than St. Charles for YEARS -- DeSALES. Logan played Ironton annually till the tigger ran -- beat them handily, thank you. Can't play them if they leave the league, as you know those boys had a "problem" with travel, so they say. Yet, Logan still had solid D-I programs no one in SEO would beat ( Lancaster, North & Burg). Anyone wanna rate the Alder team Logan played this year ? True, talent was down, discipline problems, injuries, new coach and a very, very tough schedule. I'm not whining either. You take your chances, you risk lumps. With those problems, no wins. No one doubted Logan when they played the same type schedule and rolled over everyone in SEO, including those chest thumping tigger boys on the river who ran from them. Logan will be back and with a challenging schedule, will pass most in talent and ability playing teams better than most in SEO. Logan will be aided, however, by SEO teams that don't challnge their kids and make them less prepared physically to play. No competition leads to no competitive level.
------------------you still have the best record there eh, ------------------------------nothing to do with the players, band, fans, just you. that's why it's a tough crowd , because all you do is belittle everybody. i cannot even fathom, our coach lutz making a statement like this, but of course , he is a class act.

I hope I'm wrong, but things don't look any better for Portsmouth next year........we lost virtually all our skill people, two of our offensive linemen, and our top 4-5 defensive players.

This after going 3-7 for the second straight year, and compiling a very ugly 14-26 record over the past 4 seasons.........Portsmouth football right now is not good and it doesn't look like the sun will shine for a while.

We have actually done better in the SEOAL over those 4 years than against West, Wheelersburg, and Ironton, 3 schools that are always on PHS's schedule with regularity.......the Trojans have gone 1-11 the last 4 seasons vs. those schools, but PHS has beaten every SEOAL school during that time.

With the graduation losses that we had, and the fact that West, Wheelersburg, and Ironton continue to dominate Portsmouth, I look for no better than 3-7 next season.

gunit-- there is still a world of difference in a D-VI playing D-IIs and D-IIIs. When you start with 20-22 kids and injuries take you down to 17 kids available to play ( btw, we are talking a roster that includes FROSH !). Many of those kids play both ways. Anyone with numbers could wear them down, even with a difference in talent. There are other factors involved as well. Yeah, its a tough crowd here, or is it ?

But the best part is the comments that come from folks in this part of Ohio -- most of SEO wouldn't touch want Rosecrans does. Haven't you read over the years "we are only a (fill in the blank) size school" and can't play against the bigger guys and thats whining about playing one or two games. Rosecrans does it with the MAJORITY of their schedule. WE did it when I was there. I don't come on here and preach without actually walking the walk . Thats why SEO is so pathetic. The rest of the state seeks competition while SEO ducks and runs for cover. And the worst are the "so called" powers who will get their heads handed to them in the playoff when they meet teams from outside the area.

If you hate SE OHIO so much, shut up and get out! Nobody wants to listen to your arrogant rants any longer! I found many things about SE OHIO I did not like so I left. I did not go on blogs or web sites and attempt to make others feel inferior to me, I just left. You have no right to disparage the people of SE OHIO just because you disagree with them and you came from somewhere else. If it is so much better where you came from, quietly go back!

The proof of the pudding is coming up -- playoffs. And there we'll find out first hand how SEO stacks up with the rest of the state. Just the facts. If you can't deal with the truth, lie to yourself some more.

you and i both know.
paligoof, that ironton's schedules ranks right up there with anybodies. no shame in their game.and a bad call caused us the game last year, in the rematch with hartley. we took the first one. or we'd have been hoisting trophy 3.

palli just thinks that Logan is king period.
And they play a better schedule than anyone else.
Logan is the one that ran Ironton out of the SEOAL when Ironton rejoined it was in two division formats to help with travel but he knows better travel has nothing to do with let them think what they want Bait buddy not all Posters from Logan are bad some just hates not only Ironto but other schools your not going to change his mind just give him more to rail about.
Everyone knows Ironton plays a good schedule in this area even if they don't want to admit it.
They bring up Ky schools aren't strong or we play Canadian schools it just crazy and travel does choose who you play.
Does jackson want to go to Cincy every year with out a Cincy team coming back in return I wouldn't think so.
It takes two schools on equal ground to make it happen.
And say what you want the first few schools was tough on Logan's schedule but what about the rest?
They lost to some bad teams to say the least.

One thing about playing varsity games hours away. That then may make it harder to play a full schedule of JV and Freshmen games. Which is one reason to play some closer games. If you can play 2 or 3 games instead of just 1.

I do understand about playing the best competition you can but sometimes it is also what is better for your entire program.
