North Adams vs Zane Trace
Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
Well for one, you say NA faced speed and shooting against Portsmouth, yes speed but not shooting. They faced Tory Horne and Anthony Williams that night. And you say that Williams is a better big man then Piketon's bigs, that's because Piketon's bigs aren't scorers. They are primarily in there for their defense and rebounding around the rim.
And yea that's the only team you have seen that matches up well with NA because they are the only ones that have played them!!! You can't tell me Piketon, Oak Hill, Westfall, ZT, Valley, etc...., doesn't match up well with NA. That' ridiculous!

ZT played very well gainst Peebles. But Peebles would have lost to Paint Valley that night. They didn't press a slow down team the entire game (until it was too late). They let Justice shoot constantly when he was ice cold even though #30 was drilling his shots. If they press in that game and adjust to #30 shooting and Justice attempting to pass...they would have won. You can't win forever with one or two scorers just shooting all the time. Peebles and Chesapeake found that out.
Some of these kids are great shooters/scorers...Justice, Copley, Webb...but they aren't Kobe or Lebron...they can't be hot every night. N.A. is a better "team" with more weapons and that is why Unger is a much better player at this point in his career compared to the Peebles/Chesapeake players. He finds open players and plays within the game. Very talented.
Very nice wffan, i don't understand why Peebles did'nt try to press to speed the game up.

SVC is not stronger from top to bottom! Maybe at the top but definitely not at the bottom!
I dont know of anybody who said the SVC was weak this year. They had 5 good teams this year and Paint Valley was competing better at the end of the season. Southeastern and Unioto were not competitive. Although Unioto was able to keep scores low in their games. SHL has lost 5 head to head games against SVC this year. Lyncburg lost to Piketon and Huntington (by2) and Peebles (last night), West Union lost to Westfall by 17, Whiteoak lost to Adena by 9. Eastern Brown beat Huntington by 14, Southeastern by 17, and Adena by 10-15 in tournament. Peebles beat Southeastern by 34, Paint Valley by 19. Fairfield beat Adena by 11, Paint VAlley by 11. Lynchburg beat Unioto on the road by 4.
SHL = 8 wins
SVC = 5 wins
League Comparison
#1's. North Adams/Piketon - tie
#2's. Peebles/Westfall - SVC
#3's. Manchester/Zane Trace - SVC
#4's Fairfield/Adena - SHL
#5's Eastern Brown/Huntington - SHL
#6's Whiteoak/Paint Valley - SHL
#7's West Union/Southeastern - SHL
#8's Ripley/Lynchburg vs Unioto - SHL

Kram,
You have North Adams getting beat by Adena and then you blast Peebles because they defeated a struggling Adena squad........what?
You also called a poster a dumb*** because they couldn't understand why you stated that North Adams should not have gotten by ZT. Are you kidding me?
Your keyboard should be confiscated. Minors should be monitored on these types of forums.

So, you know the identity of every poster on here and their ties to any program?
You may want to back away from the "kool aid" and actually get a clue and know who you are talking about.
You also have guaranteed a ZT victory for this weekend?
Could it be that a Piketon fan is worried about playing a 22-0 (and possible 23-0) North Adams team and is hoping that they can play a fellow conference mate that the know they can beat!!!

And boomer, did you not read what I said that Wheelersburg was down this year?
And well ya know, everyone plays better in the tournament, kinda a given on that one.

Oh and by the way, I would almost bet you that they would struggle, or even LOSE to some of those teams I mentioned. And I forgot to put in Waverly in that mix, they are struggling as well but they would compete with NA.
Getcha popcorn ready! Does your arrogance and stupidity represent all Piketon fans or just yourself? I'm hoping for the latter.
Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
Man, I didn't blast Peebles for beating a struggling Adena squad, because Peebles didn't play Adena, Eastern Brown did. Peebles played Portsmouth West, and I said Adena would compete with NA at the beginning of the year, that's why I said that Adena is down and NA would probably beat them.
And yea minors should be monitored on here, but that doesn't consist of me.
socfan, what the hell are you talking about? I definitely do not know the identity of every poster on here, just said that everyone is on the NA bandwagon because they are all talking like they are gods or something. THEY ARE VULNERABLE. And what are you talking about "kool aid", that didn't make no sense to me. And yea I am a Piketon faithful, but I'm no scared of us playing NA, I think we could beat NA. All we have to do it put southworth on unger, brabson could guard the big kid #44 and legg on jimison, night over.

Well NA fans, I guess we should just hope to win this game then go ahead and forfeit to Piketon in the regionals. I guess Piketon has an answer for 3 of our players so we should probably not even show up. Lets just focus on ZT first. Lets get another District Championship.
Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
I am proud of my friends down in Kinnikinnik for not even getting involved in this mud slinging.
I see a ZT team that has been very quiet and focused.
These 30 point tongue lashings are nice for NA fans to boast. NA fans had better be careful. The pressure is on you. The next few years the cupboard is bare.
I would be very careful what I say ,because ZT does not have one thing to lose. No pressure, a group of kids (8) that return next year. Including four starters.
No pressure Pioneers ,go do your thing fellas.
You were tough on my LE Braves the first 3 quarters of the game.
So I think your good enough to be where you are ,even though NA thinks otherwise.

Kickinurz,
I am very proud of all the people in the SHL for not exploding on this forum as they are treated like the red-headed step-child of the southeast district. Don't even try to argue that point. No matter how talented a team is, if they come from the "hill-jacked" SHL, they can't compete with the big boys. This is year in and year out. Also, I don't see any boasting and mouth-running on here at all by anyone from North Adams. One comment was 30+ and I agree, that is ridiculous. I do see a lot of posters trying to defend a good conference that plays good basketball.
One thing to think about..my friend and I discussed this at the district semis. What other conference in the southeast district can say that everyone of their schools has a district championship? Maybe a lot, I don't know, but I do know that the SHL can make that statement.

Yeah, because they play weak teams, and have good records and recieve undeserved high seeds. No way is NA even a top 4 seed, if they are in the SVC or SOC

Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
man on the microphone...I'm guessing we all should be. You can't argue with ignorance. Let me make something clear and most of you that read my posts know...I'm in no way shape or form a NA fan but I will absolutely give credit where credit is due. Going 20-0 in a season is not an easy thing to do and before I hear the weak league/they don't play anybody sorry pathetic excuse...that's a bunch of crap. Any team, I don't care how good you are, can have a bad night and NA has had some too BUT good teams find ways to win and that's what NA does. You can put 3 on Unger if you want but the others will beat you. They have so many weapons and Coach Young is....well he's Dave Young. Anyone that knows anything about basketball doesn't respect their program....well you don't know much about the game of basketball and that's just how it is.
Do I think NA can be beat? Sure they can as any team can. No disrespect at all to ZT but I just don't think they'll be the ones to do it.

Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
This is one of the ugliest forums I have ever read.
Runner00, If you can honestly sit there and say North Adams has not beat any good teams on their way to their 22-0 record then you are truely blind and stuck in your own little world in which only two conferences exist.
Quite frankly I am tired of hearing all of the NA vs. Piketon talk, both teams have bigger issue on saturday.

I see reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. If you read what I actually wrote I was saying that Piketon is the only team I have seen that matches up well with North Adams. And yes Williams is the best big man I have seen this year and thats a compliment to him more than a knock against anyone else.
You also must not have watched the North Adams/Portsmouth game because Horne shot well against North Adams, matter of fact there were a couple of players from Portsmouth who shot the ball well. And they played very good defense in that game.
Re: North Adams vs Zane Trace
Guess we'll see how many of the tough teams from the "major Leagues" of high school basketball will still be standing in the next couple weeks.
