Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
Congrats to Andy! As a friend of Andy's, I want to say to the Jackson people that they got a man that will work his tail off to win. He is great at dealing with the players and I think the team will like his attitude and confidence. Give this man time and he will have a big winner there.
I don't know about this old feller he's taking up there with him. I can't believe Becky even puts up with him. But seriously, Larry will work hard to get the Ironmen in shape. These kids will love the Hall's and their personality.
I hope the fans give this man a chance to do some real good there. I know the kids will love the coaches, but fans will have to warm up to a guy who is not from Jackson. If you give Andy and Larry a chance, you will never see a staff work harder to win year around. I promise you that. Good luck Andy, I will be a fan of the Ironmen from here on out.
A little tip to Andy; you might want to get in good with Ironman02. Ironman02 is the guy who has the pull up there in Jackson. He is in tight with all the big wigs up there. By the way, the yearly scrimmage with Wheelersburg in August ought to be fun to watch from here on out.

Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
One thing that Coach Larry Hall and I would imagine that Andy will follow suit on as well! They will not talk to parents about playing time!
Something that Larry started at Sciotoville this past season was he had "Challenger Day" every week or when another player thought he could challenge a starter for his spot! It is a very effective method of practice! No names... No politics... No money... involved; if you are the best man for the job and prove it; you will get the start!

Coach Hall will do an extremely good job at Jackson. I was on the 05--07 Valley teams and Coach Hall really was all about what he was doing and never hesitated once to sit a player down and help them through anything. Good Coach going to a good team which means Jackson is going to be a force as long as he is at the Throne.
Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
Andy said yesterday that he still will have the challenging day for the ironmen. He is bring back the stickers on the helmet for accomplishments, he stated that he is a man of many offenses he said one time he might the the 5-wide no huddle and the next time he'll run the two tightend set. He seems like a really good coach, he has great knowledge about football. On defense Hall said he wants speed, i dont know if jackson has the speed that hall wants but they're close. Im ready to see the Wheelersburg scrimmage to see how Hall has formed into the Ironmens head coach.
Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
I was viddying the quarterback skolliwol site that Hall is on, me brothers, and wondered how the dynamics of a coach teaching his quarterback a self-correcting system work. As a selling point, the self-correcting system is designed to make parents who think that their sons' high school coaches don't know anything feel better. How does that work when a coach teaches that to his own players? Is he teaching them not to listen to him?

I'd say you already know the answer to that question and it must not be very good or you wouldn't be asking so why don't you just tell us?
Seeing as you haven't had anything good to say about the guy yet!
redcoat, I have to admit that you are the man. You must have a legitimate inside source or else you are really one of the people on the committee.
Only the source, not privy enough to be on any committee. Just like sports and want to see our kids succeed at whatever they do. One last thing Pavy, u shouldn't make committs about other people's kids like you did mine, u seem to be somewhat level headed, use it in a good way. It's been fun!

Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
redcoat,
I was only kidding about your kid(s), but you are right I should not have said that. I was just trying to take up for the new Supt. I thought you were on him pretty hard and from what I have seen he seems to really be working hard. I know he is out and about in the district and the city. He goes to everything and seems to really support the kids, but maybe you know the guy on a different level than I do. All I know is what I see and that he is personable and doesn't act like he is too good to talk to us ( people in the community ). My daughter said she was in a restaurant last week with a couple of other kids and he just paid for their food for no reason. Of course they were pleased with that, but she was more impressed that he knew her name. But, you are entitled to your opinion of the guy. Again, I apologize for bringing your kids into it.
At least we seem to agree that this is a good hire for Jackson!

Re: Andy Hall hired as new Jackson coach
Coach Hall is one of the best coaches I have ever had. I had coach hall at Valley from my freshman year in football until my senior year and also my track coach, and he knows his stuff. He is great with the kids and will really make you hit the weights. Finally, he will not have anybody holding his play calling back and will be able to call his OWN plays. Good hire by Jackson. Looks like I will be rooting for 3 teams this yr. Trojans,Indians, and Ironmen.

Redcoat... Are you referring to a possible assistant that Andy or Larry will be bringing with them? If so, his name is Randy Duncan! Offensive Line coach? Portsmouth City Fireman.
