What Week Will Coach Lutz Become Winningest Coach?

I believe it will happen in week 7 at Jackson. A tremendous accomplishment for Coach Lutz. It would be sweet to see it happen in 7 straight weeks.

It seems unlikely to me that it will happen in week seven when Wheelersburg is week one, Logan is week five and Chillicothe is week six.

Maybe week ten to tie and the second week of 2010 to move ahead.

It will happen during the regular season, week 7 will be a possibility, week 8 against Portsmouth at home wouldn't be all that bad either.

No not unusual be the reality of the real world the last few years that all the talk about dominating the SEOAL. Only to come up way short as they are now leaving again. Just as many Ironton Fans leave during a game that Ironton is losing. The record is a great accomplishment. I would not be surprised if the record is not broken during this upcoming season.

I hate to see the Fighting Tigers lose any games, but how could it be scripted any better for any Ironton fan for the record to be broken against Portsmouth at home in week #8 on the 115th meeting of the Tigers and Trojans.

I don't think anyone can gaurantee a win over Logan or any other team on the schedule, just like Logan can't gaurantee a win over Lancasteror some of the others on their schedule. we'll have a chance at winning, but it's not a gauranteed win.

1999 State Runner Up (10-4) not undfeated, but made a great playoff run.
That was the same year we beat Youngstown Mooney State Semi-Finals - 34-24
Lost to Sandusky Perkins for the State Championship - 14-16

We don't have to go undefeated to make a long run in the playoffs as 1999 shows.

We'll see you all in week 5 at the Tank and see what happens.

I really feel good about this year's team. I think this will make the season even more exciting. One thing that really is great is this year's freshmen. Those kids have the best attitude and that will spread.

"Makes us look better", Kind of like a junior in high school going down and playing at the junior high pick up basketball game?

Since we are talking about the "Lutz era" at Ironton, it appears that "The Tank" has been no more of a "homerdome", than Logan's field. In Lutz' first 14 games against the Chieftans, Logan won only one game....at the Tank. (granted it was on a blocked field goal return for a touchdown, but a win)

Actually, in the entire "amazing" history of Logan football, they have beaten Ironton just 7 times out of 23 tries. 3 of those 7 were at Ironton.
