Re: South Point Vs. Oak Hill
One of the best girls games ive ever seen. The crowd was amazing, had a college atmosphere. A game of runs thats for sure. But when it came down to it Oak Hill made their free throws and South Point did not, thats the game right there. South Point stopped penetrating as they did the whole first half and Oak Hill was in serious foul trouble but credit OH's coach for going zone, great move ... SP didnt know what to do with the zone therefore they lost. One note however not the outcome of the game, the officiating was horrible both ways. Missed several walk, carry and 3 second violations. But thats how it goes. Best of luck to lady oaks bring home a state title to southern ohio and Congrats to the Lady Pointers on a terrific season, you'll be back keep your heads up ladies, and thanks to Ericka for all the hardwork she'll definately be missed.
Re: South Point Vs. Oak Hill
This was a GREAT game between these two awsome teams. South Point jumped out early and kept the game close when they would go down. Alot of missed calls here and there but ah nothin anyone could do about it. Jalynn Bradburn played a great game getting 18 points and fouling out late in the 4th. Ericka Leighty played a good game as well as that was her final game in high school. The entire team played great and they kept it closer than most people expected. Great fan support by both teams, just a shame to see the pointers lose in this one. Great season and good luck Ericka on into the future. I see the pointers getting right back into the elite 8 if not farther next season as they lose only 1 starter.
But, good luck to the Lady Oaks in state.

South Point only missed three free throws. However, when you shoot less than ten for the entire game, three points end up making a big difference.

Congrats to the Lady Oaks!!!

A very good intense game between two great teams. First time seeing South Point play. They are a very good well coached and classy team. You have nothing to hang your head about. Good luck to all of you in the future, unless you play the Oaks. Speaking of the Oaks. A great game played by all. Look forward to seeing you in Columbus. Play hard like you have to get you this far, and bring home the State Championship Next Weekend:-D
Re: South Point Vs. Oak Hill
Great game by both teams. South Point came out strong but could not hold on. Oak Hill came back hitting the three point shots that kept them in the game. The best team won tonight due to coaching. As a coach, you should know what decisions you should make. Dont look back at your assistant and ask what you should do. I was sitting behind the bench and heard this. I was very shocked!!! Congrats Oakhill!!! When Oak Hill girls made a mistake, the coach would sub them out and explain what they did wrong. On the other hand the South Point coach did not. He subbed a few times with the same player and then subbed again with another player with a minute something left because one of the South Point girls fouled out. He played his starting five almost the whole game. They were wore out!!! The South Point girls were wore out and ended up getting in foul trouble and fouling out because they were out of gas. Oak Hill had a deep bench. Oak Hill coach would sub his bench and keep his girls rested and ready to go and the was the difference in the game. The South Point team looked like they only had a one guard offense with Fletcher. She did a real good job. Was there another guard to help out? HMMM..... Good luck Oak Hill!! You deserve it!!!! All South Point and Oak Hill girls played well. When South Point played us out at Minford the game was pretty close. The girl that wore #23 had a great game out at our place. I noticed she was not a threat tonight sitting on the bench against Oak Hill? Was she hurt or sick???

CONGRATS SOUTH POINT on making the Elite 8 and nearly missing out on the final four this year!
Congrats to Oak Hill on a fine season and goodluck the rest of the way. I think it is awesome the fan support that those girls have.
The Lady Pointers proved that they deserved to be right there playing in the regional championship game. I think the difference in the game was the Pointers forced Oak Hill to play their fast paced style of basketball in the first half and Oak Hill was breathing hard going into halftime. The second half Oak Hill slowed it waaaaaay down and the Pointers got out of sync. At times they forced the tempo back up and when they did, they scored...just wasn't enough. Someone mentioned South Point not subbing and that is because they never sub hardly. They really do not have a deep bench, but I think #23 can play right up there among the starters, infact she has started some games before. South Point did foul because they were out of gas, they fouled because they had to. Oak Hill did a great job of holding the ball and stalling the game to force South Point to foul. Another difference in the game was second half rebounding. That hurt South Point a lot. However they did not run out of gas at the end...they are used to pressing and running full court the entire game of every game they play. They never stop pressing, these girls are used to it and they do not get tired. They are used to having to play most of the game and not have subs in for them. So last night was nothing new for South Point. South Point can out run and out hustle any team around, gaurantee that. They only lose one senior, which was a great one! Expect to see them make a regional trip the next two years or so....hopefully they can get a deeper bench next year. But congrats to both teams on a great game. Goodluck to Oak Hill the rest of the way.
