Talk of a scioto county regional was really put down by the folks at the Columbus Dispatch ... They picked Ridegewood as the 'upset special' in Division V, Region 19.

Here is the story ... http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories ... 5qc-1.html

I do know we fumble alot on turf, for whatever reason. We can play 4 quarters in a mud bath and never fumble. Quite confusing.

It seems to me West plays better when they act as if they have something to prove, like against burg. Games like Valley, where I think we were a little full of ourselves, we struggle.

Time to step up if they want to advance. We are a good team. Good enough to go a long ways if they play determined and get some breaks. But they must play determined for 4 quarters like they did last night.

We have to sure up the penalties department. Almost 100 yards of penalties is extreme. Our kick coverage has to get better. And one thing I really really don't understand is why do we let our extra point kicker stand for all that time without stretching and kicking. He needs a net and needs to be kicking during the game. He is a good kicker. But it isn't fair to the kid to be stationary in 40 degree weather for an extended period of time and then go out for a crutial PAT. Would really suck to loose a game by 1.
i know about both teams.

NY resembles valleys offense ALOT! but does not have the big oline or the talented players like keller. they do have speed but i think west wins bc theyll be able to dominate the line. west will eat the clock with auger and bricker. i dont think NY can handle the strenght the siders bring to the table. Now this is just from watching 3 pw games and one NY game vs wellston ( which NY won i think 49-7??) but NY does have a very good QB and WR that will catch. West doesnt turn the ball over hardly and from what i hear NY does alot. if the offense cant keep the D off the feild west win because they can control the clock. i say west 21 NY 7
I think West may as well get ready for Valley in the finals, This one is a sleeper. I mean they are small and quick but with little talent. West is way to big to lose to a smaller team. And talk about Physical, Ny doesnt want any of that. You guys just rest up and play your JV the second half. No need to get your starters all tired and stuff. They have way more important games to play than this one in little ole Nelsonville. ;-)
im not even a PW fan. just an outside opinion

N-Y has talent, and more than just a QB and a WR that can catch the ball. They have a RB, an extremely fast O-Line, and more than one receiver that can catch the ball. Contrary to popular belief, the Bucks do NOT turn the ball over on a regular basis. The Athens game, especially the 1st Half, was no indication as to how good N-Y can be on offense, simply what will happen when they don't come out focused.

N-Y is more talented than most want to believe. I understand the fascination with West and Valley, but I don't understand the N-Y has no talent and turns the ball over a lot comments. Both teams have obviously played extremely well all year and have (heartbreaking) losses. The Athens game will either refocus the Bucks, or demoralize them. We'll find out tomorrow night! Go Bucks!

I'm sorry, but I have a major problem with teams that "don't come out focused" in big games. I am not singling out posters or teams, simply posts about what people believe to be a fact about a team not being focused for a big game. In my opinion, it takes more than talent and big numbers against weak competition to be considered a very good football team. If you lack an ability to come out focused for a big game, then that is a big problem. All too often I see people use that as what appears to be some sort of justification for a loss. In my opinion, that's just as bad as saying your team isn't talented enough. To me, it's that important.

Of course, that's just my opinion, but I really do believe strongly in it. I think a team's ability to maintain focus before and during ball games, particularly big ball games is a HUGE key to making a successful playoff run.

It's cool to pick another team but when we hear they don't have the talent, their line is small, they'd better do this, they better be quick, they better not blah blah blah. It just gets old. I'll tell you what, West better not overlook NY like their fans have been all week. And you know what? I doubt they will. I'd say both teams better be ready for a hard hitting game and I have a feeling both will without me or anyone else telling them that.

Then it'll be a battle of the airhorns I'd guess. I'm sure NY's will be there and just as loud, off of school property of course.

And hopefully, more north than East or they'll never make it to Nelsonville.

I'm going to take West 28-21 in this one. I don't think NY has the size to match up with their hogs up front. With that being said, NY isn't going to hand West a win. They have to earn it. Good luck West. Go SOC
