Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
Grandview Heights is just west of downtown Columbus and a mile or so from the Ohio State campus. Nice little suburb within the city.

Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
We (Valley) beat them on a last second shot in the second game of the season at a tip-off tourney in Chillicothe. I know from what we learned there, that they returned all 5 starters from last season. They were 13-9 in 07-08.

Good Luck Piketon and Coach Lisath... Represent Southeast Ohio
- could be a big year for southeast Ohio representation in Columbus if it all plays out.

Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
The Grandview announcers on the streaming radio broadcast said they don't know if they've seen a more physical or all around bigger team this year than Piketon. They kept going on about the front line of 6'6", 6'6", 6'5" and said it over and over again when they were doing the postgame.

Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
Grandview seemed to have success with the half court trap against Buckeye Trail. I don't see it being as successful against the Streaks if Brabson and Smith stretch the floor and get to the corners, Legg will just keep his head up and pass over the top. Legg has great vision. He won't dribble across half court and pick it up and get trapped like the point from Buckeye Trail. I honestly don't know why anyone would press Piketon and get them running. I believe trying to keep the score low and make them run they're offense is the best bet.

Great Job Piketon
Was a good win against N.A. they were a good team but the 22-0 record was a little deceiving they hadnt played anyone as strong as your team is all yr, from here out these teams you will be playing are gonna be battle tested, so you will need to bring your A game every night so dont get to cocky just keep executing your gameplan. And Hit Those FREE THROWS!!!! You made me sweat last night.
I see my neighbors in Pike County winning this game
Piketon 74-Grandview 63

Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
I can honestly say, I have only watched Grandview Heights for 8 minutes of basketball and will not make a prediction. I will say this, if Piketon plays within themselves and knock down the free tosses, they can play with anyone! Lets Go Streaks!

Out of bounds,
I totally agree....I wouldn't want to get Piketon running either. Legg does a tremendous job of getting the ball to the middle of the floor, and those kids really run the lanes. Then you have Brush and Southworth crashing....these kids sure are a lot of fun to watch. The only time I thought Piketon looked dissheveled vs. NA was when they tried to stall...that was a little scary.

Go Tigers... Got to take care of business first before we get there...but makes me think about another Columbus team we beat by 24 pts (Cols. ST CHARLES) in the regional finals...huh?
Grandview is a strong team and has won a lot of games...this will be a good game...and I expect FT and rebounding to be the deciding factor, again. Strength wise, it reminds me of a team like Wheelersburg last year....I hope that sticks in our kids minds and they "REMEMBER da' Burg"....
Stay Focused! We need all PIKETON, SVC, and other SE fans supporting the streaks!!!! It is a difference maker!!! PLENTY OF RED TO GO AROUND!!!!
GO STREAKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: GRANDVIEW VS PIKETON
Read in the Dispatch that Grandview prides themselves on their defense. based on the scores of their games, they like to keep it in the 40's and 50's. Here's hoping the Streaks can make that defense look like Swiss cheese. GO STREAKS!!!

Agree, only time Piketon looked disorganized was when they were holding the ball and not attacking. The Legg kid is one of the best I have seen at keeping his dribble alive under all kinds of defensive pressure. He handles the pressure of being the primary ballhandler very well. The fact that he can play the amount of minutes that he does says a lot for his conditioning! At times it seems like the other players run away from him when he is under immense pressure when they should be cutting to the middle or coming back to relieve some of the pressure.
