POST 23 dropped a close one 2-1 last night in game 1 against Hillsboro POST 129. Solid pitching by Farmer going the full 7 and giving up only 2 runs. Offense still sluggish. Could only come up with 3-4 hits in the contest. Can't win many games scoring 1 run.

POST 23 was leading game 2 3-2 in the 3rd when the rains shut the game down. Offense looking a little better in this one.

POST 23 travels to Ashland's Central Park for a DH against Ashland POST 76 tonight but the weather does not look good for this one.

POST 23 went 1-3 in the tourney. Just like many of the losses, too many fielding mistakes and lack of timely hitting.

Fri L 8-6 to Circleville Post (7 errors)

Sat L 14-6 to Columbus Warhawks (10 HR's hit in this one with wood bats. POST 23 with 3, Osech 2 and Leach 1) POST 23 led this game 6-5 until the 5th. Coakley pitched well in this one.

Sat W Ottowa 10-5 (Wamsley threw a 7 inning gem. Probably touched 90 on the gun several times late in the game) Tied 5-5 in the 6th and finally the offense put up some late runs.

Sun L Troy 7-2 (Farmer with another solid outing but no offensive help). POST led this on 2-0 until the 4th.

Yep... Was a pretty short porch though. 290' LF, 327'CF. Anything hit well that was up was carrying well with the heat and breeze.


Even with missing several of their starters POST 23 picked up 2 wins last night against South Shore POST 276. Nice to pick up back to back wins. Total team effort as many from top to bottom stepped up and contributed in these wins.

Game 1 : POST 23 - 6 POST 276 - 4 WP: Morrisette (7)
Myers with a solo shot to RF.

Game 2 : POST 23 - 5 POST 276 - 4 WP: B. Hall (1 1/3), Montgomery (5 2/3)
Myers with another jack to LF in this one. POST 23 faced Heinemann on the hill for 276. Nice pitcher. Justin Montgomery pitched 5 scorless innings before POST 276 plated their first run. Left him in just a bit too long. POST 276 took a 4-2 lead in the 6th but the Dickey boys plated 3 in the top of the 7th to take a 5-4 advantage. Bryce Hall came in relief and shut down 276 bats to finish off the game.

Those was probably the 2 most exciting game of the year so far. GREAT JOB by ALL the BOYS IN BLUE!!!

I don't know, I think the game Wamsley pitched in Hillsboro got pretty exciting. But I agree these were too. Glad they won 2!

Yeap ur probably right about the Hillsboro game, the best part of that game was when Peanut looks right at the batter an tells him exactly what pitch he was going to throw, not once or twice but 3 straight FASTBALL, FASTBALL, FASTBALL an he was OUT!!!!

Post 23 starts the Ceredo Kenova Tournament tonight @ Ashland Central Park game starts at 5:45pm.

Wish I would of known that, would of came over and watched a little bit. I was just a few streets over from the park working. When will they play again?

POST 23 came away with a opening game win 7-6 against the host team Ashland POST 76. POST 23 led the entire game fending off several threats and runs late in the game by POST 76. Wamsley got the win. POST 23 led 2-0 early then extended the lead to 4-1. POST 76 plated 2 to pull to 4-3 in the 5th. POST 23 then extended the lead to 7-3 headed into the 6th keyed by a solo HR to CF by Hopper, a single to RF by Farmer, a RBI double off the LCF fence by Ratliff, an RBI SAC fly to CF by Bryce Hall, and a perfectly executed squeeze by Schultz. POST 76 took advantage of a couple tough plays and timely hits in th last of the 7th to pull to 7-6. With tying run on 2nd Wamsley gets the 3rd out with K.

Big win for POST 23 as they move to defend their title. Oh and by the way a big thumbs up for Coach Branon for contesting a horrible batter interference call against Wamsley early in the game. Even though he was ejected he stood up for his squad and his energy carried over to the team with a small rally which plated 2 runs. Sometimes you just have to take one for the team.

Due to field scheduling conflicts game times today have changed. As of last night POST 23 will play at 1:15pm today and immediately following at 3:30pm at Central Park.

That was a very good game, other than the Umpire behind the plate the only thing that can be said about him is STUPID!!! He needs to take a refresher coarse on the rules. A BIG thumbs UP to Coach B!!!!!
