That's typical garbage from them... I remember in 05, they said we couldn't play with Grandview or Ready because of their "central Ohio" schedule... I'm very confident in the ability of this team and I love that so many seniors play vital roles.
Ditto!!!

I remember that, heck even Alumni "JJ" came out because Ready was "loaded" and played that tough central Ohio schedule. Valley crushed Ready 28-6 that night.

Valley being on upset alert would imply that Ridgewood is still the underdog though.

I beleive the statement implies Ridgewood is better than Valley and they may very well be, thats why they play the game ! But I love it when they give Valley a reason to prove themselves !

I'm not implying one way or another either. It's just my take on what an upset is. Looking forward to a good game tomorrow night.

Garbage. Its labeled an "upset" simply because Valley is the higher seed. The teams up north dont respect the teams down south...you'd think Ridgewoods 1-3 record in Scioto County over the last four would change that preception.

At a minimum they are saying Valley is overrated because of the teams the Indians "FEASTED" on. This will be another great high school game and I'm betting on another "FEAST" for the Indians!

I hope Valley smokes Ridgewood cause I'm sick of central and North (dominant?) football. Indians need to hit and hit hard every single play without any stopping till the whisle. Do that and ya win by 20 or more.

Valley has to keep the ball off the ground. If they win the turnover battle I don't think there will be a way to slow down their offense. They are extremely talented running and throwing the ball. If Valley can do this I see them winning 28-14. If they don't have good ball security they will be in for a dog fight. Good luck Valley!

Good Lord. If they're putting Valley on upset alert, I'm putting Ridgewood on blowout alert.

Ridgewood better strap it up tight, Valley will be out to prove a point in this one. Indians by 4 TD's.

I agree. In Ridgewood's two losses, it appears as though they were beaten in opposite fashions. Liberty Center, from what I read, was able to ground and pound them for the win. The following week, Garaway was a more finesse team that threw the ball all over the field...the stats had them listed as going 26-39 passing for 305 yards.

Obviously, with our line and Keller, along with Yates, we run the ball very well and can play the ground and pound game. At the same time, with Yates throwing ability to go along with Keller, Dwyer, Hartley and company catching the football; we can air it out very well also. We are going to have to avoid turnovers and limit big plays from Ridgewood in the passing game. From what I read, it seemed like they use a short passing game that has been able to break some big plays. I think they prefer to run the football, but judging by their stats, it seems they definitely aren't afraid to use the pass a lot if it is given to them. I think they have some pretty good balance as well. It also looks like we are bigger up front on the lines on both sides of the ball, which will hopefully be to our advantage.

Not really sure how or why people think valley is now the Underdog, their a two seed playing on their home turf. Upset alert means the underdog (Ridgewood) could win this one. i guarantee this, its going to be one helluva ball game

How was my assessment of Ridgewood? As I mentioned, it's all based on reading stories from their games and stats, so I'm not certain that I'm correct. Can you help us out a little?

Tobias,

You ought to come up to the top of the Valley stands next to the press box. It will be the right side if you are face the press box, left side when facing the field. There will be a large group of us standing up there and I think you'll definitely enjoy the view from there. Plus, there are a couple of things, outside of football that I'd like to chat with you about and I think some of the guys with me could be a big help as well.

I think some of you posters that are predicting a 16-20 points or more victory for Valley may be a little delusional. Ridgewood is a very well coached team and will come to play. This is their ninth straight playoff appearance. They have played a tough scedule this year, which usually has not been the case the last few years. Liberty Center would handle anyone on Valley's schedule, and Ferry probably would too. Bottom line is that if Valley played Ridgewood's schedule they would probably have at least one loss, maybe two. I was told Ridgewood was one play away from sending their game with Liberty Center into overtime, but turned the ball over. That to me is very impressive, because Liberty Center is no doubt one of the top 10 teams in Div. V this year. I am a little surprised with their loss to Garaway, but it did come the week after they played Liberty Center, and Garaway does look to be solid this year finishing 4th in their region. I think Valley has a slight edge in this one playing at home, but I would be surprised if there is a blowout either way.
