Tomorrow is August 1. Two-a-days begin next week. NFL training camps are open. In short, it's football season. Baseball season for the Reds was over two months ago. Let it go.

You don't have to be a jerk!!!!!!!!!
If you don't want to talk about basesball thats fine, then stay off of this topic. It's about baseball and the reds just in case you are confused.

I'll agree with d&c about the Reds' season being over.
9 1/2 games back heading into August is probably too big a hill to climb ... unless it's a season when the Mets are atop the NL East. Then it's "Keep Hope Alive!"
But I digress.
That said, the Redlegs can still have some fun by playing spoiler for the Cubs and Cards as they battle for the NL Central crown. It's not as interesting as a pennant race, but it's fun watching someone else's tank at the last minute.

During the 2nd half of the season, possibly. . . very possibly.
And I couldn't make it up to the ballpark this weekend so it looks like we might not get that glimpse of blue sky after all. . . I'm mad enough to kick a dog just to hear it bark right now.

Rolen is a stud.

I was hoping for Baker to the Nats for a PTBNL.

To be fair to Baker, he has only been able to put his projected lineup out on the field for 10 games this year.

Votto missed about a month for anxiety
Phillips hurt his thumb earlier
Hernandez currently on DL
Bruce broke his wrist
Gonzalez on DL twice
Encarnacion got hit by a pitch and missed over a month
Volquez has pitched very little and suffered a setback in his rehab

It has and will continue to be a rough year for the Reds. But I dont think all of it is Dusty Baker's fault.

I don't blame it on Dusty Baker. He has done a good job of mixing and matching lineups. When the Reds start putting some money out to bring in some veterans that can step up and contribute then they will be in better shape to contend. They have a lot of young talent but are short on veterens. They don't have any real leaders in the clubhouse. Votto has stepped up but he is young and doesn't really know how to lead. Phillips wants to where the C but hasn't shown that he is ready for it.

I just hope the Reds keep playing hard and don't quite. If they can finish the season strong that will help them out for next year. They also need to go out and find some sinker ball pitchers so they can keep the ball inside of GABP.
The ownership needs to spend some money!!!!!!!!!!
They need to start running again. When the Reds were running they were winning.
JMO!

He's not the same player he used to be...If he were the Cardinals would still have him.

That's a far cry from the near Pujols type numbers he put up in the past. Falling out or not he's seen his better days....The Reds need get with the program and get younger...That's how small market teams have to do it...Build from within...Not chase after high priced castoffs for a quick fix...

No one can really complain about their Relievers. Currently ranked 4th in NL. and they pitched 3.2 scoreless on Aug. 1 Game.
