Exactly. Until someone goes to Stark County from Southeast Ohio and brings home a state championship this are will be completely oblivious to the pollsters.G.W.A. wrote:Because thats where the champs are always from most of the time.loveofthegame wrote:North of I-70 get all the votes

Re: AP POLLS..
They are bias and they dont really matter, the year we played in the state finals we beat 3 out of the top 4 and 2 of them we handled easily and the best we were ranked in the AP that year was I think was 16 so I dont pay much attention to them.
Re: AP POLLS..
I also think they look alot into if you play schools North of lancaster..
^^^^^^ ALSO Remember that.

Re: AP POLLS..
We are limited because we only have one paper that covers this area. Im sure it is the same with other towns in this part of the state. Whats really unfortunate for Scioto county is we have 9 high school football programs fighting for one first place vote. Not trying to sound bitter but the daily times is a bit bias as well.
Re: AP POLLS..
I don't know how much about what the AP Polls mean in this area. I do check out this site though, http://bit.ly/o7tdUW Jackson at 5-0 is ranked 105th in the State, and 19th in Div. III. Just really great football in the state.
Re: AP POLLS..
A few years back, Tom Metters of the Athens Messgr had lots of power in the annual AP poll. Tom has since retired. Don't know who represents SEO area now, but sure do miss Tom.

I don't know who's in control of inflation now, but back in the day cheeseburgers were a quarter and a gallon of gas cost a dollar. Oh, dollar gas .....

Re: AP POLLS..
Actually, that depends. I've seen some "polls" that should have paid me to be there instead of the other way around. But, that's a topic for another forum all together.ucantcme wrote:Not when a stripper is on it!G.W.A. wrote:Polls are a joke

Re: AP POLLS..
Polls aren't entirely accurate, but they are generally a good indication. Its typical for the SEO folks to pizz into the wind because a favorite school doesn't make the Top 10. Thats because you don't play anybody and in the playoffs , you aren't relevant. Take another look and you will find lots of schools out in cow country in the small school polls. D-I and IIs are almost all in big metro areas. Thats not the case for the small schools. They are , for the most part, simply better. And look at their schedules. They are good, play tough schedules and have the results come playoff time to justify why people vote for them.
SEO ? You do it to yourselves.

Re: AP POLLS..
Paladin your exactly right, but fans from NY are happier than a pig in $hit right now being ranked number 10.

Re: AP POLLS..
Cow Country, Wow that is precisely why the polls are bogus. And that scheduling thing works both ways. Why is it the only game a D-IV or a D-V school from SEO can get is with D-III or D-II programs. If you have so much love for big city football why are you posting on a message board called Southeastern Ohio PrepsPaladin_II wrote:Polls aren't entirely accurate, but they are generally a good indication.
