You might be looking at this wrong...Palmer isn't a teacher, and I believe it is a Union formality to post the job every year because he gets a one year contract. It doesn't mean they are not hiring him, they are just following procedure.

Not true. Manchester’s contract changed. The board has the option to “open” positions they deem appropriate. Not all positions were "opened." Therefore some of the positions not "opened," were people that are not teachers within the district.

I stand corrected then. I will say that is an odd way for a board to conduct business. I have never heard of that type of supplemental contract before. Seems like the board leaves themselves wide open with that one.

If a school posts the basketball coaching position, they may get a few resumes. Posting the Senior Class Advisor will not.

So what is going on in Greyhound county? Are they getting a new coach or is Coach Palmer coming back?

I believe he is headed to Wright State. He may attempt to walk on. Great kid, basketball seems to be just one of the many things he does well.

I have heard a former AD in the SHL is interested, but not much else I have heard that they want to bring a teacher in. Whoever the coach is I hope they are well received by the town.

If they bring him back, why open the job at all? And tar heel unless you heard this info from a board member or the principal, then it is not a very reliable source.

From what I know this was the third strait year they had to debate on the basketball jobs. I wonder if they will continue this trend?
