Re: South Points next coach
Bring back Bill Coleman!!!!! Six State Championships in Florida. Thats all I'm going to say

Re: South Points next coach
Bill Coleman was John Eaton's assistant for the S.P boys program thoughout the late eighties. Landed a great position in Florida. S.P. needs to do whatever it takes to get him back.
Re: South Points next coach
isnt he in his 60's? and i believe he has been coaching girls for 15+ years. out with the old, in with the new

Is there any truth to the rumor that Chris Barnes is coming to South Point. He has resigned his job at Central Crossing in Columbus. He would be a good one for the Pointers along with his son being with him
Re: South Points next coach
i heard this two weeks ago. Is there any truth to it? Only five SP board members will know the answer to that.

no matter who they hire i agree with the first couple posters, Eaches should at least be an assistant. and for the guy who didnt know him, its Justin Eaches he played under Lafon at South Point was the PG with Holsinger and those guys. He knows the game and has the intensity to light a fire under the kids, plus hes young and understands how to get the most of the players and the players like and respect him.

he was the varsity assistant under norris the past 2 seasons and was the freshman coach at sp before that
Re: South Points next coach
Just how good is his son? what grade is he in? position? Sounds like a good hire for someone who wants to come back to the area. Hope he does a great job! Anyone know if he is planning on having a camp for the younger kids?

I think you mean sons. He has three sons one who graduated this year and will be playing at one of the West Virginia colleges next year, maybe West Virginia Tech. He has two others, one who I believe will be a senior and one who will be a freshman. All can play basketball and play it very well. Congrats to Chris and his family.
Re: South Points next coach
Chris' oldest son is attending West Virginia Wesleyan I believe.
Congratulations to the Barnes family. Congratulations to an IHS alumni.

I watched the Pointers a few times last year, and I thought they had a decent team. Do they return a lot of guys, or were most of their boys seniors?
