Or is this one of the situations where they have to advertise the position because the coach teaches in another school system. Some districts have to do this every year. I believe the coach last year teaches and coaches wrestling at Chillicothe.
Re: Southeastern looking for new coach
I know a Math teacher that would be a good young head coach......

Re: Southeastern looking for new coach
maybe they should have interviewed last year instead of just hiring who they wanted. This one is on the Administration. Sad the kids deserve better than this.

se is in a very tough spot
they need a head football coach that can be in the hallways, around the kids on a regular basis
however,
the only teaching spot they currently can offer is math
very hard to bring in a seasoned coach when you cant offer a teaching spot to go with it
i really really do not believe that last year se just hired the person they wanted.
i am 100% sure they had no idea who reggie wax was before he interviewed

I disagree that you need to be in the hallways.
As long as you have assistants there it is doable.
Many HC work in other buildings or don't teach.
SE owes it tothe kid to stay with the coach.
Changing year after year will not build the program.
There is talent there. Also how do they know what will be open at the
end of the year. it is only April.

It can work but it is hard to make it work. Yes assistants in the hallways helps but it is still not the same!

Re: Southeastern looking for new coach
se currently has zero hs football coaches teaching in the hs.
no way around it, that is not good for the football program
i believe the administrators are aware of this and are trying to get it so that there are coaches in the hs, but creating positions is tough and can very well lead to evem more problems down the road.
Now they are stuck in a situation where they are trying to find coaches that fit the teaching openings that they have.
Its not easy when the teaching openings in a small school are limited.

It is a great asset to have many coaches that also teach. Tobias, he may not be young, but I have a feeling that he has 20 years ahead of him. Thats plenty of time to build a good football program.
