Yawwwn. Valley does what EVERYONE said they couldn't do. Wins the SOC II and goes 10-0.

Valley BIG.
I figured I just get it out of the way

They have alot of talent, they just havent put it all together. They are a young team and will be back on track very soon.

Valley makes the playoffs for the first time since 2005 and second time in the past 10 years. Minford misses it for the first time in the last 5 seasons.

I do however remember the roles being reversed, just a few years ago, and Valley gave Minford all they wanted and almost pulled off a big upset. Hopefully Minford will return that favor Friday night.
ASIDE from what everyone says, this traditionally has ALWAYS been a good game, granted there have been a blowout or two from both sides...it doesnt happen OFTEN. Since were talking about the last 10 seasons, IS Minford really that far ahead of Valley??????

2002 - Valley 21-0
2003 - Valley 35-14 (Minford Playoff team) Co-SOC II champs
2004 - Valley 7-0
2005 - Valley 40-0 (Valley Playoff team)
2006 - Minford 13-7
2007 - Minford 40-0 (Minford Playoff team)
2008 - Minford 10-7 (Minford Playoff team)
2009 - Minford 28-21 (Minford Playoff team) SOC II champs
2010 - Minford 7-6 (Minford Playoff team)
2011 - ???? (Valley Playoff team) SOC II champs

It looks good for a Valley win this year, and they have already clinched a share of the SOC. So, you look at this and in the last 10 season, it's a 5-5 split. Yes, Valley has made the playoffs only twice in the past 10 seasons, however...when they made it in 2005, they are currently one of TWO SOC II schools to make it to a Regional title game (West 2002 state runner up). Minford has 2 SOC II titles (one being CO-champ) and Valley has AT least a Co-title this year (which will probably be an outright) You guys can spin it however you want, but numbers dont lie.

Isnt that just what I said without including the yearly numbers? ;-)

And the year I was talking about was 2008. Minford was headed to the playoffs and Valley was 5-4 coming into the game. Final score was 10-7 and it was a dandy of a ballgame. Valley just about played the role of spoiler that year.

Exactly, Valley wont overlook Minford, because they know whats at stake. Outright SOC title and home game. The kids will play hard, get the W and get out of there.

I don't think these teams ever overlook the other. Too many friends, family, girlfriends, and random hookups between the two. While it appears that Minford may have quit the past few weeks, they will bring it Friday.

I know that we went over there my Junior year riding a 40 game regular season win streak and had to score twice in the final 6 minutes to beat a 5-4 (maybe 6-3?) Minford team. I have also seen 2 other 9-0 Valley teams struggle to beat bad (3-6/4-5) Minford teams 14-0.

I fully expect Valley to win, but it won't (or at least shouldn't be) easy.

I remember that our junior year, when we showed up, the Falcons were AMPED, with all these life size posters and signs and sayings..

I've heard several people say that that was a sad situation back then because Valley may have had a good team or two then but nobody will ever know because their coach wouldn't schedule them any competition even in their non-league games. Is that true ? They said it wasn't the boys fault and that is why it was so sad. The boys just had to play the little, weak teams that was put before them and consequently nobody will ever know if they were really ever any good or not.

If the 40 home game winning streak was ongoing in you and Coop's junior year it must have been your senior year that the string stopped and the team faded somewhat. I never did hear who stopped your string, musta been some big D3 powerhouse that finally sneaked onto your schedule huh?

I will be interested to see if Crabtree takes his foot off the gas to rest and protect his starters for the playoffs or puts his heal through the floorboard if he gets the chance!

No love lost in this one!!!!

He's not dumb, I don't think he risks and injury 'trying to prove a point'. He knows this team is really good and primed for a playoff run if at 100% health.

IF Crabtree gets the chance he will make sure it is well out of reach, whatever that number may be. Like others have said though I don't think Valley is expecting a walk through Friday night. If they are they may be suprised.

This is Minfords one true rival. People like to talk about wheelersburg being it, that's dumb. This is the team that everyone to ever suit up at Minford has wanted to beat, above all others. Nothing like playing Valley week 10 for a years worth of bragging rights. I'm sure Valley feels the same way about Minford.

I don't see Coach Crabtree running up the score if the opportunity arises. Like others have stated, there is too much that can go wrong by playing guys when the game is out of reach. Also, Coach Crabtree and Coach Daniels don't have as bad a relationship that some make it out to be. They've had their differences but I can't believe either would try to run the other into the groud if given the chance. Having said that, I think Minford will come out with some fire and force Valley to play their starters longer than they would like. It really depends on how Minford reacts from last weeks collapse at Waverly, do they quit or do they show some fight. I love the Valley-Minford rivalry and I'm excited about Friday. Valley has a lot on the line with an outright SOC II title (their 1st) and a perfect season. I think the last perfect season was in 99 or 2000. It was either my junior or senior year of college, but I can't seem to remember which. Good luck to the Indians Friday night, hoping they leave this game at 100%!

Wouldn't expect anything else... If things aren't going well, might as well tear others down and stir the pot. Very nice job of twisting things! You couldn't be more wrong but very nice attempt windy dinky doo!

Hey Bleeding Red i never did read a responce from you as to why you were at the Burg\Valley game rather than up to Waverly cheering on your falcons in that oh so embarassing 2nd half........ZERO yards in the second half........Really?

Now you are over on the Burg thread giving West their defensive game plan, thats funny right there i dont care who you are!! Here is a game plan for Valley start the Minford bus at halftime and they Falcons will crawl on, it wont matter if they are at home........ I think Valley should one up Waverly and spot Minford 40 points...........just to make it intersting!

Dont worry where I was. If you want to meet up, I will let you know all about it.

Last I checked this was a football forum where FOOTBALL is being discussed. Having seen both West and Burg play, I chimed in my opinion. If you dont like it, dont read it. Seen plenty of people from other schools discussing other teams threads.

Is someone getting under Forward's skin?
