BEST RB'S SEO IN THE LAST 25 YEARS
Re: BEST RB'S SEO IN THE LAST 25 YEARS
What about Heath Hutchinson fromGAHS I think BobbyJones broke his rushing record.
Re: BEST RB'S SEO IN THE LAST 25 YEARS
Sylvester Bloomfield, SV class of 86. Fullback, 2200+ yrds rushing and over 20 td's. The guy was a beast. Not nearly as beastly or good lookin as his left tackle though.

You are kidding me?
All these post and not one mention of Justin Roush of Meigs (may be one post i missed, but still). The kid is in the top five all time in the State of Ohio. Was a three year letter winner and scholarship running back (he walked on initially) at Ohio University.

Ben Hartsock of Chillicothe Unioto. Was a beast of a fullback and walked on and played at Ohio State as TE and in the NFL with Colts and Falcons.

I can't speak for that whole list, but here's what I know:
Ike Simmons played at OU
John Cosgrove played at OU
Derek Harden was a two-year letter winner at Ohio State
Austin Rohr was a preferred walk-on at Ohio State for track and field (he was a 3-time D1 state qualifier in the 200)
Gaiters is at Youngstown State

Hartsock wasn't a walk-on at OSU. I believe he was on a full ride.
Todd Bachtel from Jackson was 1st team all state D2 in 1988.

Re: BEST RB'S SEO IN THE LAST 25 YEARS
Jo Jo Parker was a great back. however, Jermon Jackson played in two state title games and th reason why Ironton played in those title games was because of him. he was flat out awesome. I remember Jermon not going to play as a sophomore, i believe at portsmouth. Portsmouth was handling ironton and Jermon was put into the lineup on a kick return of some kind. he turned the game around. ironton won that game on a blocked kick i believe.
jermon played at OSU and although he did not start at tailback, he did score 3 TD's in one game for the Bucks.
Jackson was the best of the past 25 years.
Sidenote: You guys are right about Roush from Meigs. Unfortunate that kid did not play at a bigger high school. hard nosed kid who could flat carry the mail. he reminded me very much of heath brownstead. Heath as ironton's fullback in 1989 when they won a state title. I refereed games in which Roush played. he was one tough cat.

No love for Athens?
Ryan Adams (1990) (Current AHS Head Coach)
Kaheem Maxwell (1995)?
Shawn Hewitt (2000)(Athens)
Chris Hewitt (2004)(Athens)
...just to name a few
Agreed, Roush from Meigs was a BEAST!

I cannot believe everyone who has failed to mention Brad Young and or Thomas Mayes from Wellston. Mayes was being recruited by Army or Navy, but didn't have the grades and Brad Young was a starter at running back for Ohio Unversity for 2 years. Young was also, being recruited as a Defensive Back at Ohio State, but his ego was to big for him to accept a position other then RB.
