I am sure the coach(s) in charge are certified in CPR and have everything they need.
Have not heard who all is on staff but I will take a guess at from last years staff Coach Stapleton and Davis are back

Maybe the CPR is easy to get but the People Activity Certification, is must and that is what I heard was lacking or not completed by everybody.. Hopefully somebody will make sure this gets taken care of..
Good Luck East

Because I was told who was running the weight room during the last part of the year after Coach Hall left and that person had to have it if he was indeed the one running the weight room.

47 days until this game kicks off the the 2009 football season! This Thursday night game between the Mohawks and the Tartans has become an August tradition for the early start of high school football in Scioto County. Important game for both teams to get a feel for how well the season may go for each. Solid win for the Tartans could be an indication they may be well on their way to a fourth SOC-I title. A win for the Mohawks would be the most positive thing that has happened to this program since the Bill Apel era (35 years ago)!! Good Luck to both teams! Let's play some football ya'll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this game will be alot closes then in years past and maybe only a TD or two but I think the Tartans will win this game, they have a good group of young players that know how to win games...

You know, it's not going to be as clear-cut as in 2008. With that said, it's going to be a slaughterhouse with the Tartans scalping the Mohawks... prediction:
42-12
East obviously on top
I just don't believe that Northwest is ready for East's speed. They do have the Brown brothers, but they don't solely make up a whole 11-man team capable of defeating the only Div. 6 school that could compete in SOC 2.

This much is for certain, if the Tartans run over the Mohawks, then NW is looking at another 1-9 or 0-10 season. Looking forward to seeing whether the Mohawk community, faculty, coaching staff and players are committed to having a "football program" or just a "hobby". The heat is on you Northwest Mohawks! Thursday, August 27, 2009 will tell the tale! Let's play some football ya'll!!

I don't know about East competing in the SOC II...
I think alot could be detemined by how well East in their scrimage against Minford.

East couldn't compete in the SOCII.
Over the past few years, they could just barely get by bad teams like Unioto or Huntington who were bigger schools.
They're a good D6 team, though.
They'll beat Northwest, but it'll be closer than the experts think

So, East, Minford, and Portsmouth have a jamboree?
Yes, my rival falcons will take it.

Not only once, but I have "forgot" it a couple of times! It's the age I suppose! As far as holding me to "these words ^" not a problem. It is simply the truth. Tough love, if you will. We will find out if there has been any REAL hard work during the off season toward making a "program" out of what has in the past been just a "hobby". If you do not live and breathe this game there is a real good chance you will not be very good at it. Look at the success the rest of the conference has had over the years, including your Indians. August 27, 2009 is "report card day" for what was accomplished in the winter months. I look forward to being present for the "grade"!

Re: Sciotoville Community Tartans @ Northwest Mohawks-Week One
it's pretty much been forever since i've posted but i feel this year will be a northwest victory just by a hair i'll say 21-17 ....we know the browns are dangerous, but kreig crabtree will be one of the quickest and strongest players on the field every time i see the kid he just keeps getting bigger and bigger...if he comes to play i dont see anyone who could stop him the bigger players wont be able to catch him and the smaller ones wont be able to bring him down so he could be the X-factor....oh and taylor horsley that kid plays with some hellacious determination.....and my last little bit, whoever it is they put across from tyson brown be sure to have plenty of medication for the kid after the game cause he's gonna be hurting, you can't stop that coke machine with legs
