I guess we will find out Tuesday. The powers to be are having a meeting. Someone decided to have a bright idea to draw teams out of a hat instead of the way it has been done for upteen years. the #1 seed should play the #8 seed and so on. But I figure since the West 6th and West 5th will be the 1 and 2 seeds there is some fear that it will be an all West Superbowl on Trojan turf. I personally think it is crap to even have this discussion. If they do this to simply keep either West team from making it I see the league possibly losing HUGE money next season. The league president(s) should do the right thing. The shoe will be on the other foot one day.

I heard about this. If they pull that, West should pull out of that league immediately.

They better think long and hard about their descision. West has options, most of the other teams do not.

I can assure you the Trojans pee wee organization have nothing to do with this discussion to pull names from a hat. It was news to us yesterday and we intend to vote to keep the seedings based on records throughout the season.. Do not get us mixed up with the powers that be, who happen to be the head of the Rough Rider organization...

The League President needs to do what is right. Not what some coaches or what some parents think is right. These decisions need to be mad on the field. Don't ruin these boys season by screwing with what has work for years.

I just dont understand y we wouldnt just do the seeding like it has always been done..If they are worried about to west teams playin in the super bowl, then someone should beat them..They are the two best teams, It aint fair to them nor anyone else to pick teams from a hat..

Because they don't want 2 West teams playing the Super Bowl on Portsmouth's field. Pretty childish.

If a player plays on the 5th grade all year, they should stay there. Loading up one team wouldn't be right. Could you imagine if West did it? They would've won about every Super Bowl the last several years. Wouldn't be right.

Curious. Do they still have the rule they put in last year that says you must play where you go to school unless you get a waiver?

They better get it fixed.....It is crap. If any team wants to load up I say do it to it. Just make sure you let everyone know that you did..

It is my understanding that Portsmouth 5th and 6th grades did combine due to low numbers.

There are about 25 players on the combined team for the playoffs...according to Tobias, Jr.

In my opinion, strength and the power running games wins championships in colder weather; therefore, I believe that it will be West 5th vs. West 6th in the Super Bowl. Portsmouth does not have a power running game (as shown by their games against West 5th and West 6th).

Just my opinion.

Are u seriously trying to say portsmouth lost that many kids. I know for a fact that 2 weeks ago when they played at West, Portsmouth's 6th had almost 20 kids on that team. There 5th grade had good numbers earlier also. I really hope they are not cutting kids just so they can combine teams. If that is the case that is the worst thing Ive heard in a long time. Right now I have it figured that ports 5th is fourth looking to play northwest a team they already beat. Is it really fair to not give every kid a chance to play in the playoffs. They after all did earn that right.

I help coach RR 5th and 6th and it doesn't matter who we play, we don't care, we haven't won but we are going to play our team that we've had all year long and do our best and all boys will play. We should play West 6 because they have earned the 1 seed. That is fair. Play with the kids you've had all year, good or bad. Good luck to all.

I would like to say I have alot of respect for that west 6th coaching staff. They could have tried to embarass us but they didn't .We played them hard and they are very well coached and a good team.

Again, the powers that be are with the Rough Riders, not the Trojans... Siders never had a bad run ?????

I really hope that next year, someone can take control of this league that actually knows what is going on! I for one would love to have a shot at it!!!

This is not in defense of the President, however, she did not want to be the President. She went to the meeting to represent the Rough Riders and nobody else would step up. She is actually a wonderful lady who would do anything for anybody if approached in the right manner. I don't agree with many of the decisions that have been made, but I also did not volunteer to take this on.

Portsmouth 6th plays East at 3 PM...

Also, the one hour difference in the varsity games is cutting it close.

They should be called Portsmouth. If they combined teams just to try and beat a 5th grade team that is sorry. The adults involved should be ashamed.
