Losing to a 1-7 team is bad enough but to blow a 24 point lead like this has the Falcon faithful dreading next week and the blowout that is going to happen. Every starter should be benched and play the JVers. At least they want to play....not sure there are any all staters on this Falcon team this year. some who thought they were all world got exposed this year. I feel for the coaches. you can only coach so much and you cant help it when the players quit. This feels like the nebraska-OSU game. Yes indeed

Couldn't agree more. I am absolutely stunned. It was like once a few things went bad, the Falcons just folded up their tents and quit. The coaches have guys in the right spots, they just aren't making plays. There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for this team. They have flashes of looking like the teams of the last 4 years, and the follow it up with looking like one of the worst teams to ever put on a Minford uniform.

Like I said I'm in shock I have never seen such a collapse after 2.5 pretty good quarters of football.

Seriously!!!!!!! I was there, I have never seen refs like this in all my games I have watched as an adult in 26 years. The late hits on the falcon QB, multiple times...really!!! no calls....Music being played while Minfords offence was on the line of scrimmage...Seriously!!!! no calls. Touchdown brought back after ref throws flag , the kid was already twenty yards ahead of everyone when ref finally threw the flag. ........These kids are playing the way they are told to play. They run the plays they are told. If I was the coach, I would have to take this loss as my fault and no one else.

So at 1-7 and coming back from 24 down and we still can't give any respect. Thanks to Burg and West for the support this past week and kudos to the kids and coaches from Waverly for the effort. Minford kids keep your heads up Waverly isn't really as bad as everyone thinks they are!

I'm not going to say I told you so, but I told you so. Waverly is not a bad team, they just played a killer schedule this year.

Congrats Tigers on the win.

How about the hold on the punt return to go up 31-7. The ref threw the flag and everyone knew it was a hold - very obvious. The refs got together and picked up the flag - Minford TD stood.

Waverly kids could have folded at that point. All it did was fire them up, which resulted in a 5 yard sideline penalty followed by a 15 yard unsporstmanlike on the coach and you saw what happened once they got fired up - 28 unanswered points in a little over one period of play. THANKS FOR GIVING THE WAVERLY KIDS CREDIT FOR WHAT YOU WITNESSED LAST NIGHT! YOU CAN BLAME REFS ALL YOU WANT BUT IT WAS KIDS WHO SHOWED HEART! MINFORD DIDN'T HAVE TO FOLD LIKE WAVERLY COULD HAVE.

The touchdown that was called back which you mention was absolutely the right call. What does it matter where the kid is on the field, the infraction took place and the ref called it. The only thing different with that play and the punt return is the flag wasn't waved off that time.
Several calls and non-calls went Minford's way. One in particular was a blatant facemask on a Tiger ball carrier in which they missed.

In the end, Waverly fought through it all and wanted it more - Minford folded still up 31-28.

If playing music bothered you I guess it worked.

I was beyond shocked when I heard that Minford lost! Although I haven't seen the Falcons play yet this year, I have seen Waverly once against Valley and by the way they performed against the Indians, I woulda figured that Minford would have no problem against them (But then again, Valley is excellent this year so maybe the Tigers weren't as bad as they looked). I knew the Falcons were having a bit of a down year but I didn't figure it would of been like that. (No offense to either team)

Great comeback and great heart by the Tigers, they were down but continued to fight as hard as they could in the 2nd half, they had nothing to lose and that makes for a dangerous team. I don't know about any of the questionable calls since I wasn't there, so I'll just leave that one alone.

Ah what to say about this one. Tale of two halves that is for sure. Kudos to the tigers for battling back and taking advantage of Minford turnovers. The refs werent to put it mildly very good. Im sure there were missed calls for both teams but on Waverlys 4 td to bring it to 31-27 the receiver shoved the CB down it was pretty blatant but what can you do. Congrats to the Tigers on a great win and real confidence builder to head into next year.

Although, I must say the announcer and whoever controls the music should have been told to shut it by the refs. Plenty of times I remember him openly criticizing the refs with snide remarks. IE Another flag on Waverly!, THATS A FACEMASK, more dirty laundry and more. Besides playing music through the loudspeakers when Minford is on the line trying to call the cadence causing one false start to make it 3 and 9 instead of 3 and 4. Totally unprofessional and uncalled for.

Wah, Wah, Wah maybe the officials at Waverly last night were related to the officials at your place last year! Music caused a false start, that's a good one too. We couldn't push anyone down on defense so I highly doubt that we did it on offense. How about this Waverly 35 Minford 31 GOOD JOB TIGERS!!!!!

Yea? The rule is when the ref begins the playclock all music stops. That certainly didnt happen last night and accoriding to a high school ref I talked today it should have been stopped/flagged. Apparently, you guys get these refs from the same place you get the basketball refs and baseball umpires Waverly is famous for. All well, Minford should have won but they didnt. You guys will get us next year most likely but the talent is there just super young.

Officiating crews for all SOC games are assigned by the SOC, by an official who lives in Scioto County. Waverly did not "get these refs". Waverly fans were probably more irate with the officating last night then Minford fans.

If it's the bells you're whining about being played prior to 3rd down there is no way it's any louder than fans chanting defense, defense or a band playing drum beats. The "bells" fade out as the play begins.
We have played it all year with no officiating crew saying a thing.

If you were at other Waverly games you would have heard the announcer call penalty flags; "laundry", "yellow hankies", "more dirty laundry" after several had been thrown. Sort of change things up to make it interesting. The crowd gets a kick out of it but I guess since you were on the losing end it hit a sore spot. It hasn't bothered Waverly fans when they were on the losing end.

Learn from your loss and figure out how your team can get better instead of coming on here blaming the refs and the announcer for your meltdown.

Minford blows a huge lead and gets beat by 1-7 now 2-7 Waverly. How ugly will it be when 9-0 Valley rolls into Minford 30+ they will lose by.
