The seedings are a mess must have been a lot of backscratching going on there.

Lord forbid 3 OVC teams from Lawrence County get in the top 4...right?

Chesapeake deserves #1 they are undefeated and until a team loses you cannot justify not voting them #1 regardless. Wheelersburg definitely #2 and well deserved, if Chesapeake would have had one loss then I think Wheelersburg might have received #1 anyways. South Point and Rock Hill with #3 and #4, could have easily been flip flopped the other way around. But those are the teams with the top 4 records. I am surprised Portsmouth got higher then West, but they did have the better record. West is a bit down this year...but even when they are down they are still pretty good! 7-11, that went pretty much as predicted I think.

But yeah there will always be a little something that goes along with the voting every year, that will never change.

It's the number of girls that a school has in grades 9th - 12th. Valley falls under division 4 along with South Webster. Valley just happens to play in SOC 2. Valley is actually not much bigger than the other SOC 1 schools, especially girls.

thanks ---would like to see the actual numbers if anyone knows how to access them. I guess when the state looks at divisions they don't assume a near 50-50 % split in the 2 sex's. Interesting.

They certainly outnumber their 1st round opponent by 100 girls I'd guess. ND has about 40-50 girls total in grades 9-12 .

In Div II, GAHS was 17-4 at the tourney draw and was voted a #2 seed behind #1 Marietta who was 13-5.

Not a biggie. You still have to beat whoever you play and nothing is a given in the one-and-done tournament.

If you have a team that can get out of the district realistically, it doesnt matter the seed, and if you dont, then you are just arguing about the chance to "possibly" play one more game before being eliminated.

thanks junky -- Valley made it under the number by 1 girl. 131 girls , ND has 33. Hopefully all the SOC schools do well. I'll be rooting for Valley should they advance past ND. MD
