Not sure what is going on, but my 2 cents from Tigertown... The field is named after his dad and he is a great coach and guy. Why would anyone be stupid enough to consider any option other than Coach Boston at Nelsonville-York? As long as this doesn't have anything to do with bringing Arnold back for another year of eligibilty , then good luck Buckeye faithful and Coach Boston!!!

Actually Arnold will be a senior next year. Can someone call the radio station to make sure people know about the meeting and perhaps Channel 15 can be there since they film public meetings? This one should be a must see for all residents of the NYHS district.

Wow! All this support for a football coach! I know he is a great coach, but life is much bigger than who is coaching the local high school football team. The decision has probably already been made. You can't get people to support things like cancer societies, but round them up for a football coach! What's done is done! Let it go.

When you get a clue about what the BOSTON NAME MEANS in Buckeyeland its not about football its what THEY THE {BOSTONS}TEACH OUR KIDS.ITS NOT ALL FOOTBALL.

I think before this is all said and done they will have to move this meeting out to the football field to accomodate everyone attending!! We'll be there!!

if this meeting is about Coach Boston then it will be a private one and the public isn't allowed in.. you may be there in support .. all personnel meetings are closed to the public.. sorry but still show up in his support though

That is partially true, if there is to be a vote though it has to be in public as Ohio's Sunshine Laws require that any vote be made in public. The BOE is supposed to allow public comment also before voting. You are right that any discussion of personnel must be done in executive session.

As much as I like and respect the entire Boston family---I will not be making any demands for rehire until we know the whole story. If in fact he was dismissed for not having a degree--I believe he was given multiple opportunities to get his degree. If he failed to follow thru--then I believe the school did the right thing. Granted he is a football coach but he is teaching our kids and should be setting a good example...so if he choose to blow off the "finish your degree" request--then he left the school no choice. The whole thing is unfornate and I feel for the Bostons.

That may be true but why wasn't he fired from the AD position? There is no requirement in NY administration rules that says he must have a college degree to be a head coach. I would think that the AD position would require a college degree since this makes you part of the administration before being head coach. And while I agree with you about not jumping to any conclusions, that goes both ways. Show me why he was fired. That is what I would like to see, a valid reason.

thanks I forgot that part of course when they are behind closed doors everything will be hashed out and decided before returning for vote..

how was this announced? as a school board meeting or as a personnel meeting? if its not a personnel do they have to let comments its been awhile since I was involved in public meetings and cannot remember.. but with all the rumors flying they need to settle it for the taxpayers and faithful fans of NY good luck Monday night I will be out of town...

I am not sure how the meeting was announced be it a regularly scheduled mtg or a special meeting but either way no action can be taken in executive session, that has to be done in public. I know your family has been a big supporter of the Boston's through the years so keep them in your prayers.

So let him coach you to 6 championships then decide we need a degree. I have heard my mom mention witch hunt. I believe this is so. I think the admin and the board is treating the public like they are stupid. Just set back and let it all come out. Dont demand anything because you are just nelsonville rutters. I had them pushing buckeye bash tickets on me that last few months and the only reason I tried to sell any was because of Dave. you need a degree to teach but because you have a degree doesnt mean you can teach. If this does take place what are you willing to do? Dont let them insult you be heard. We are not hicks and not stupid. Thank you buckeye84 for letting us know what rights we have. I am so glad this has to be public.
