Old or New?

Post by mattash »

The old forum is finally done. However, I cannot get it to upgrade to 3.1.6 like this forum due to it being over 10 years old with near 18 million files. We can switch back to the old board and remove this board or we can archive the old board where it is viewable only and continue with this new board. Post counts and be transferred easily, so don't let that be the reason you wouldn't want to switch. Old content can be searched and posted on but new topics will have to be on this site.

What is your thoughts?

I am starting to like the new one. It is much more user friendly.

I say transfer the post counts and whatever else you can and keep the old one for archives.

I am sure there are lots of new features that we have been missing out on as well. No reason to keep the old forum active.

Post counts can be manually updated on the new forum. If someone has 5,000 + post it needs to show. They are a pioneer of the website.

I have forgotten my username and password so many times over the years that I'm not too concerned about post count anyway. This new forum is really good for the phone

I'm starting to like this one. I say transfer the post counts and just make the old forum accessible

Stick with the new. Sounds like too much work to recover the old system.

Keep the new format. Just make sure you do not have a legal mandate to be able to access the old data (posts) in case of subpoena, etc..

The old board will be archived and available to view posts.
