SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
Well boys, thats more than 5 posts in 20 minutes. My bet is won. Time to collect my wager and cut my grass. Thanks for the 30 minutes of entertainment and when I am enjoying my "favorite beverage" this evening (for free), I'll think of you guys. It will be right there in my memory of 4-0 over the Chefs while in high school.
You boys put down the clarinets and get some sun today.

The best part is.........
WE rub it in your face that you CANT BEAT US. YOU bring up something that happened 20 years ago
YOU have to resort to bringing up stuff that happened before i was born
Logan 135 Ironton 0 AT THE TANKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

My personal favorite. 1984, my senior year. We go to Logan. they dress us in the swimming pool across the street. (What class). We promptly go out and wax the Chefs 42-0. 3 out of 4 years scoring 40+ points against the Chefs. However, big bad Logan didnt thump their chests that much back then.
The only teams scared of the Tank are the little river teams? Sorry to say, we are one of those little river teams.![]()
. You should know, your AD has a PHd, in playing small teams.

Thanks for the laugh. It's great!

Can you do math? Let me tutor you:
Lancaster: 646 boys
Logan: 453 boys
That's a difference of 193 boys.
Now, subtract 193 boys from Logan's 453.
That answer is 260.
So according to your logic, Logan is the same size as every team on the schedule except for Ironton. Keep swinging.
When is the last time Ironton won ANY kind of championship? Not this decade. Keep your head in the clouds big boy. It'll be that long till Ironton wins another (unless they can get back in some weak Kentucky league.....HAHAHAHA)
Keep hanging your hat on League Championships because that's as far is it goes for Logan

I guess if I finally had some luck against a team that used to kick my butt on a regular basis I would probably thump my chest also. I don't think Logan will sign any contract with Ironton after this season with all the Seniors and talent they will be losing. Ironton has some chest thumping classes coming up including this years Senior Class.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
Logan's D should be fine
You will have to remember these seniors didn't give up many point from the 7th grade thur the 9th and then added to the great D their first two varsity years.

You'll never learn! EVERY YEAR since you rejoined the league all the way up until the game "This years team is young but by golly they're awesome!" and then we smash you. We'll lose these seniors then reload. Like its been said numerous times Logan is lightyears ahead of the league now. Chillicothe is the only school in the league now that can possibly beat Logan in the next 2 or 3 years. Logan will have a down year compared to what we have had the past 3 years once these seniors graduate but Logan will still easily win league and would still easily destroy your mighty floppin tigers.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
I remember not too long ago DJ ripped up the Chiefs at their place and I still don't know if he broke a sweat doing it, and by the way GA got handled by Ironton that year. In fact many of the Logan SEOAL champ teams that beat the Devils were good but not nearly as good as the Ironton teams that beat us. A couple of playoff years, Ironton was the best team we saw, including the playoffs. They have been down since the Tripplett meltdown but this stuff is ridiculous, especially from someone not even "20 years old". Wow!!!!! Only way to know is to ask Ron Janey to attempt to schedule them continually after this year.
Another thing, you accept defeat when Lancaster is 193 boys bigger than you but that is only an excuse when a team 273 boys smaller uses it. Or even 186 boys like GA. Yeah they are on the schedule and there really are no excuses but I guess the only acceptable exception is Logan losing to Lancaster. Ironton talks about the past because they have one, unlike boys sports in Logan. Kinda makes you want to talk about the Katie days huh?????
Cycles come to an end and the harsh realization of losing to teams 40 - 60% smaller will set in over time and the crow will be flowing. Enjoy today because not every day will be this glorious. Logan is a solid favorite this year though. They may even be as good as some of the IHS teams from the late nineties or even early 2000's.

Or in one sentence. "Please leave the SEOAL so someone ELSE can win it"

A couple of years ago, Logan actually won a playoff game or two. Heck, they may have won the regional title that year.
When Ironton competed in state championship games (For Logan fans, thats when you win a ring.)in 1973 and won a state title in 1979, there were only two rounds of the playoffs and only 4 teams in each division qualified. (3 divisions total), so there would not have been a regional champ per say.
in 1982 Ironton defeated Morgan 35-8 for a regional title. There were only 2 teams from each "region" make the tournament.
by the time ironton went back to the playoffs in 1986, they were out of the SEOAL, i believe.
To my knowledge, only the 1982 Ironton team has won a region title, unless Logan did it a few years back.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
if we started a logan vs ironton thread for football today:
1)how many pages would it end up being?
2)how many times would it get deleted?
3)how many times would the word "past" be used?
4)how many times would "you're a bigger school be said"?
5)how many posts would be posted?
6)how many times would it be viewed?
what difference would it make in this years game? answer:NONE

^^^^^this means that it doesnt matter what anybody says on this board, the kids will go out and play hard and one team will win and one team will lose. this forum is just a place to TALK and thats it.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
I dont understand why Ironton fans should not talk about their proud past? Does it have an effect on this years game? No. However, this years teams arent even practicing yet.
I dont think Logan should stop talking about Katie Smith. That was a great time in Logan basketball.
Some of my greatest memories of high school was traveling to Logan. Witnessing unquestionably horrible facilities, beatting up on the Chefs and the long, fun bus trips home.
Also, the past is good for Logan fans too. Many of the current parents are being vindicated by their kids. Nothing like having your kid vindciate 2 or 3, 40-point slobberknockers.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
Every time I see this stuff I bite my tongue and don't post a reply, but I can no longer resist because the last poster made a terrific point.
Despite my screen name, it might surprise you that I'm going right down the middle.
I am immensely proud of Logan Chieftain football, as are those who follow the Chieftains up here. And by the same token, Ironton fans should be (and are) just as immensely proud of their team and program as we are of ours.
Yes, Logan is a bigger school than Ironton, which obviously makes a huge difference when it comes to the post-season playoffs. I think if Logan were D3 or D4 the Chiefs would be in the state playoff discussion almost every year... but that's exactly why they have divisions. It should not be cause to put down one another.
Ironton indeed administered some old-fashioned beatdowns on the Chieftains way back when, which the Chiefs have been doing to Ironton and other teams in recent years. It all goes in cycles. I've seen the great and not-so-great Logan teams since the mid-1970s and witnessed all but a couple of those Ironton games since then. I've seen some terrific Ironton teams as well as terrific Logan teams.
The poster who mentioned Katie Smith makes a great point. I've known Katie personnally since she was 10 years old and will always be proud of her and think back fondly on her days with the Lady Chiefs. Darn right we're proud of her up here! To say the least she's been a bright light for Logan and Hocking County, and those were great times up here... but when I think of her and those great Logan teams, I don't put down Logan's opponents from those years.
My point: sometimes you simply have to give credit where credit is due. Those were great Logan girls basketball teams, just as we're discussing great Ironton and Logan football teams here. Darn right Ironton fans should discuss and be proud of their teams and tradition too!
These are high-school kids, for goodness sake. We all need to appreciate the fact Logan and Ironton have outstanding, tradition-rich programs, enjoy the last-ever football meeting between the two schools this fall, and then go our separate ways with respect for each other's program. I know that when Ironton leaves the SEOAL I will still always have respect for the Fighting Tigers program.
Folks, a little trash talk is okay... but at least wait until we get closer to Sept. 25 at the Tank!

This is my early favorite for post of the year. Well done!!
Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
Logan AND Ironton are in for a tough time in about 16 years. Ive heard of a few babies in Chillicothe lately that have been born over 10 pounds. A couple born last year are already walking. A few born 2 years ago are already running and my friends four year old can run a 4.5 and bench 245 already. Just Wait...Just Wait... Chillicothe Cavaliers...2025 State Champs, USA Today Champs, NCAA Champs. Thats how good we'll be. We'll just quit the OHSAA and become the 12th team in the Big ten.
Come on guys. Ironton has a GREAT tradition. Unmatched in SEO and are having a down time. Logan has the current best program in SEO. In ten years Logan People will have a GREAT program in a down time. It happens everywhere but private schools and the HUGE city schools.
