Trimble was inside the 10 yard line and Wahama forced and recovered a fumble.

Heard they just started the 2nd half after a delay for a power outage

Tomcats kept it interesting for awhile, and then it became a snoozefest. Too bad the "Title game" is so predictable. One season in the not too distant future, the White Falcons may be surprised and on the outside looking in. These things are cyclical, and Wahama joined the league when things were really down. Don't be surprised to see some of these schools "Phoenix" and rise from the ashes in the next couple of years and Wahama will struggle to win six games. It could happen sooner than later.
Congrats to Wahama on their win tonight, and good luck the rest of the season.

Steely, if that comes true, then Southern will be world champions of highschool football, and the Perry Southern will be #2

Stranger things have happened my friend. Memory serves me correctly, Miller did make the playoffs in the last 10 to 12 years. At small schools in particular, occassionally you get a very high achieving class or two of athletes that dominate, like Fed Hock did with the graduating class of 2007. They upset the applecart occassionally, like beating Trimble in 2005 and 2006 to win a share of the football crown in 2005 and to win it outright in 2006. I'm just sayin........Fan-o-Southern wrote:Steely, if that comes true, then Southern will be world champions of highschool football, and the Perry Southern will be #2

I don't know Steely. Every since Wahama dropped down to "A" in and around 1985 it's been nothing but successful seasons as far as wins and losses. When they were "AA" from the late 60's to the early 80's they won a lot of games and in a lot of those years went 8-2, 7-3 etc. playing the Winfields, Ravenswoods, Wayne's and Parkersburg Catholics of the world but couldn't make the playoffs (back when they only took 4 teams that were selected by the media, etc.). They only graduate around 60 kids nowadays but there is a very large area to attract from and with a TVC (basically "A" / DVI) schedule most years now they'll be almost guaranteed to win 6 or 7 games a year just playing the smaller schools that are their same size but not any bigger. The TVC was the best thing to happen to them in a long time.Steely Dan wrote:Tomcats kept it interesting for awhile, and then it became a snoozefest. Too bad the "Title game" is so predictable. FOS - I have to agree with your statement that the TVC was the best thing to happen to them in a long time, and realistically, I don't see too many seasons in the future where they win less than six or seven games, but in some of those years, they will not win the TVC crown. That was my point. You and I both know how things cycle through, and you have banner years where the talent is really great, and others where it is not. Some of this will even itself out over time, but I don't expect Wahama to ever become an unsuccessful football program.FANOSPORTS wrote:I don't know Steely. Agreed, no one can win the league championship every year (although someone from N-Y will challenge me on that statement since they don't like me anyway) but yeah I agree with you wholeheartedly. Nice talking to you again.Steely Dan wrote:FOS - I have to agree with your statement that the TVC was the best thing to happen to them in a long time, and realistically, I don't see too many seasons in the future where they win less than six or seven games, but in some of those years, they will not win the TVC crown. I wouldn't give them the crown just yet. They still have a tough road trip to SG, who seems to be gaining confidence every week.

Agree. That game could very well decide the league championship.cg 22 wrote:I wouldn't give them the crown just yet. They still have a tough road trip to SG, who seems to be gaining confidence every week.

This week S.G. at trimble could also be a huge game towards the standings.

Re: WEEK 2 - Hocking Division Title Game - Trimble @ Wahama
I was just glad to be able to do a game where I could have a direct impact on the outcome again. During the timeout in between the first and second quarter I was able to call a secret hotline that turned off the power to the stadium area. This enabled the white falcons to lift weights on the break. they came out stronger and were able to win. A funny note was late in the game when my freind, willy cheatem, threw a flag on trimble because on of their players didnt have his mouthpiece in. the trimble fans went crazy, it was then I realized they probaly arent used to wearing those since most kids up there dont have all their teeth...... :lol
