No they haven't had all the training you seem to have had or did regional tournaments or are some great umpires from above---they just volunteer their time, please people get off their cases. We wonder why we cannot find people to help at these fields and this is why. We all just give our time, and yes we make mistakes, but at least we volunteer.
I will also say to SPORTs FAN: that was well said. It was during a rain delay and these two guys talk to each other all the time. One guy just went a little too far with his jokes and the other took offense. I was not there, but like you said, i have heard about 10 different versions.

Hold on just one sec. How do u think that myself or most of the umpires out there have started, it was, an i still am a VOLUNTEER thank you VERY much an have been for about 15yrs, so dont start on that line. It doesnt matter if it was a rain delay or not they was still considered on the playing field in a suspended game, until the game was finished or postponed. Everyone that is going to VOLUNTEER should know the rules. Thats where alot of the problems begin. Iam not putting the blam on anyone other than the 2 " ADULTS " that was involved. This should be an EYE OPENER to the board an the parents of the league. Let the people on the field try to do their jobs tothe best of their ability an the main thing " LET THE KIDS HAVE FUN AN ENJOY THE GAME"
