It was a pretty big turnout.
I was so glad that so many came. I am even happier that the school board did the right thing.

The Boston family can rest easy now. The school board can get back to more important things, and the NY community can rest assure Coach will get our boys ready for another TVC title.

How would you like to be the guy that let him go? If I was him I think that I would look for another job because it is evident that he has NO BACKING from the Board to do his job and what he sees is best for the school. So if i was him I would go to work and collect a paycheck. No trying to stir trouble that is just my opinion
Re: Coach Boston Stays!!!!!!!!

The complexity of this situation is perplexing to me. If I were the super, I would start typing my resume this morning as I am thinking my employment may be in jeopardy now that the power struggle has waned and shifted toward the Boston clan. Ironically, the cats will still be favored in the season opener.

This is awesome!!! I wanted to attend, but couldn't because I work until 5:00 pm in Athens, and couldn't get to a 4:30 pm meeting, but my thoughts were there.
Congrats to Coach Boston...he's a great guy, mentor to the kids, and football coach!!!

Re: Coach Boston Stays!!!!!!!!
The board folded like a lawn chair on this one. Way to show where your priorities are. The only thing the players learn from this is that if you are talented, you can get away with whatever you want. Good luck anyway. I'm pretty sure another TVC Ohio title is coming and apparently that is the most important thing in the world in Nelsonville.
Re: Coach Boston Stays!!!!!!!!
The super was part of this agreement. Correct? These guys were likely negotiating this all day long.
Also, it is doubtful the power has shifted. The board did not necessarily find anyone blameless. They may have simply felt that such strong actions were not necessary in this case. Improper relations with a student, violence, and hardcore drug abuse are things that make such actions necessary. Anything else can be worked on and used as a warning.
I am guessing the super is somewhat pleased with this result. Clearly, there were behaviors he wanted changed. I have a slight feeling that will happen.
Plus, now that the situation has been handled properly, I think it's best people let everyone move on with their lives, and hope this has been a lesson for all involved.
Anyway, good luck to Coach Boston and the Buckeyes this season. I have a feeling the players are going to rally in a big way after this situation. The voluntary weights and sprints are probably starting today.

Re: Coach Boston Stays!!!!!!!!
Sounds to me like the community decided this judging from the turnout at the board meeting! This man seems like a very popular coach and has alot of town support!!
Re: Coach Boston Stays!!!!!!!!
Yes, the community had a big role in it just as they should. I was glad to see the political process at work last night. The board obviously saw what the public wanted and since no explanation could be offered as to why Davey was fired in the first place they did what the people wanted. That is exactly how elected officials should govern. Take your opinion weighed against what the people want and then make your decision.

Amen Orestes, I find it amazing that you and some of the folks from the Meigs area seem to be the only ones that can evaluate a situation such as this in a commen sense manner. You have accessed the outcome exactly to the point. Thank You. The Buckeyes are moving on and this incident will soon be forgotten.
