Wheelersburg Basketball 2009-2010
Re: Wheelersburg Basketball 2009-2010
I don't know if anyone else cares but it is spelled 'Schankweiler'. It really does have a 'c' in it.
As to the freshmen, there are 12 freshmen to fill 11-14 freshmen games (depends on the Ashland tournament) and, assuming that sophomore Eric Mohebbian plays all four quarters of the JV games, four of the five slots in the 20 JV games. That is 220-280 quarters of freshmen and 320 quarters of JV that needs covered for 540-600 total. The 12 boys are each are allowed 90 quarters which gives them 1080 quarter to cover 600 max. Should be pretty easily done and means playing time for everyone on the roster--(Go MAX!).
For a triple header night, they would have to cover a minimum of 36 quarters (20 Freshmen and 16 JV) and with 60 quarters available among 12 freshmen the triple headers should be no problem with plenty of substitutions.
Math--it is a wonderful thing.
For me, this means I get more Freshmen pictures than usual. That I like!

I don't believe that, both would have played major minutes.

I forgot 3 didn't return, I quess it could have been a factor for one of the three but the other 2 would have got their minutes.
Re: Wheelersburg Basketball 2009-2010
Don't they return all there starters plus Bendolph ? They will be just fine and compete for the title . They will be like every other SOC 2 team now 6-7 deep then a dropoff.

i have heard the same thing. i don't know if that is why one of them quit but i wouldn't have done that
Re: Wheelersburg Basketball 2009-2010
Mad_Dogg-of course you would never have 'quit'--because you never would have played in the first place.

Fbnut: No, only two players did not play from the varsity roster last year. One of those players was concerned about his playing time....the other one would have started for sure. The one worried about time on the court, wouldn't have started, but would have had PLENTY of time...and injuries are always capable of happening, plus Bendolph and Schank are hurt..so..imo they both should have played.

Worried about playing time is a ridiculous excuse, because if you quit you don't get any playing time. You are sitting in the stands!

Yes, all three were varsity last season and all three will be missed. The Burg will be fine, they just won't have the depth that everyone expected them to have. I know why one of these boys didn't play, but that's not up to me to say so we'll leave it at that. Don't ask me to PM it to you either because I won't.

In the almost 5yrs I have been reigistered on here I have never ask you to PM me anything. Wasn't going to start now, don't really care that much. I hope the young men enjoy their time off.

Re: Wheelersburg Basketball 2009-2010
Wheelersburg will be fine!!! So what 3 guys from lasts years team aren't playing. Its not gonna hurt Coach Barricks feelings. He's gonna role with the players he's got, and if you haven't noticed the guys he's got are all pretty good. Burg is gonna be solid this year. Bendolph is a freak Stegman is the best big man in the SOC Lang can do it all. I look for burg to win the SOC and at least a district title. Don't forget we have Coach Barrick he is one of the best coachs in the state. He always gets the best out of his players, because he expects nothing less. He really cares about his players. I know I played for him!! Yeah he strict and stubborn and some people don't like him but really he could care less what u say about him. He's gonna worry about his team and developing them not just into basketball players but into men. So thats my 2 cents lets not worry about the guys who aren't playing they'll regret it when they see how good burg is gonna be they'll wish they were out they playin. Let's worry about they guys who are on the team!!! Go Burg!!!

Fbnut: Sorry..yes craigmiles was on the team last year, I forgot. But, after the season everyone new he wouldn't play this season..that was pretty obvious.

Burg will be just fine. You have plenty of athletes at every position. However, Stegman is not the best big man in the league as baller 08 states. ...but that should be debated on another thread.

And who said that post was meant for you? A little presumptious, don't you think?
