2009-2010 Chillicothe Cavaliers

Post by gymrat »

From what I have been hearing, both Michael Turner AND Donte Thompson have been dismissed from the team. I heard this from multiple, credible sources.

With the loss of those two players, but the improvement of Malik London, Jalyn Ragland, and others, what can we expect from our Cavaliers next year?

I for one believe Landon Beverly will have to step his game up and we may get to see Brandon Beverly blossom into a very good guard. Brandon is a great athlete. Short of only Thompson IMO in the pure athlete category. Also, Tyler Magnion(sp?) could see time next year. He is not the athlete that any of the others I have mentioned are, but he is a GREAT game manager for his age and I really liked what I saw from him on JV last season. He is a floor general who can be trusted not to turn the ball over and get the ball to floor managers. In the frontcourt, Shay Netter could also see some time next year.

Who do you guys see starting, playing next year? Who will be a suprise? Who will have a breakout season?

It's a shame that just 2 years removed from a state championship that the Cavaliers are having problems keeping kids on the team.........I still think there's enough talent coming up to be a competitive force in the SEOAL, but with the graduation of Knights, Dawes, Smith, and Van Volkenburg from the starting lineup, Coach Kellough is already having to look to new faces making up the varsity roster.

I think that next year Chillicothe will find themselves in a real battle in many SEOAL contests, and with the loss of these 2 kids there is even more uncertainty as to what the Cavaliers will look like in 2009-2010.

Yeah it's sad to hear about Micheal and Donta! Micheal is my nephew and he made a bad choice. Luckily he has family to support him to help him get another chance at life! As far as Donta goes..........who knows i guess the street life has its perks. You talk to these kids over and over again to maybe give them a little advice on what not to do and I guess it doesnt work with everybody! These are BIG losses to the program especially Micheal. Kid has a lot of potential and will help any team he lands on. Thank the Lord above though we still have Malik and Jalen and a couple other players. Jalen has a great jump shot and can drive to the basket so he can score. Malik the sky's the limit,if he can get a little stronger and be a smarter player the Cavs will make some noise! Brandon needs to discipline himself and he could help out tremendously! We should still though win the SEAOL! 2010-2011 Cavaliers will be better!!! Cavs still RULE!!!!

The lost of the two kids will hurt the program. One made a dumb stupid mistake in school and got what he deserves.Hey you mess up in school you pay the price. The other so called wanna be rapper needs to concentrate on school and getting his head together so he can make it.Hopefully two kids can pick up some weight and get stronger they need alot of meat and potatos with pasta and a good weight program.I can see the team maybe winning the league this year it will be a rough ride in the up coming season.

Doea anyone know the CAvs schedule next year? I know they play at Xenia. Are they going to any showcases? Wellston, Schottenstein center, etc. Are we still playing Zanesville?

The Cav's are not on the Devil's schedule for the up coming season which i believe is a mistake by both school's.This was one of the best games for the last 3 years in the state of ohio.
Hopefull we can meet up down Athen's now that Zanesville has moved back to d2 for next season and continue the rivalry down there.

Good Luck in the future........

Michael Turner is back to play the point on the Cavalier basketball team.......paired with sharpshooter Jalen Ragland in the backcourt, CHS will be in good shape in that area.....Ragland is a potential 15 PPG scorer.......opponents will then have to deal with 6-8 Malik London in the paint........don't know who the other 2 starters will be but Chillicothe will be a serious contender for the SEOAL title and district crown.

Xenia will be a good test for CHS.......the Buccaneers play in a league with D1 schools Fairmont, Centerville, Beavercreek, Kettering Fairmont, Huber Heights Wayne, Clayton Northmont, Trotwood Madison, and another school or two......it is a very good basketball league. Xenia hasn't had much success in the tournament recently because of the area that they're in.......the SW district in the Dayton area is very competitive, and just to make it to the district is a feat in itself.

With Zanesville back to D2, the possibility is there for a CHS vs. ZHS matchup in the regional......but a lot of things have to happen between now and then. I think that Logan Elm, Waverly, and Hillsboro will seriously contend for the district also......and from what I understand there will be only 1 SE district champion in D2 in 2009-2010.

Man can basketball start any sooner? Football has been a drag to say the least......oh well still a Cav! Well anyways I think these Cavs are going to be better than what people think they will......i know i predicted the football team to do well also.....but the situation is hopefully different! I'm sure it will be. From all the talk around Chillicothe Jalen Ragland has been doing real well in gyms.....heard kid can really stroke the ball from deep. That will finally give the Cavs the outside threat that they needed. If Micheal Turner can stay on his game and keep his head on straight he could have a BIG year. There was flashes last year of how good he can be.....could shock some! Malik has to be and I said has to be the phenom that has followed him for the last 2 years......from all the talks HE is getting better and could be a better player than he was last year! Kid has been invites from everywhere so that must be a hint on what we could see this year. CAVS FANS get ready......... basketball is almost here!

It is officially Bball season. What is the latest? Hopefully no one has quit. Any transfers other than Zach Johnson? What positions will be filled by whom and who has looked good in early practices and over the summer?

I hope the season goes good for the Basketball team,Theres alot of high hopes for the team. They should make a good run for the league title and possible deep run in the tournaments. What are the grades on the basketball team? I remember last year there was and individual who wasn't allowed to play until week 10 of the season.I was just wondering if his grades are up to par.

As of today everyone's grades are game ready................thank the Lord! While everyones talk is about Malik London,Jalen Ragland is getting alot of pub. He's getting courted by Xavier! He might be one of the best small forwards in this area. The kid can shoot from deep and go to the hole and dunk it on ya........the next two seasons at Chillicothe will be real good! Can't wait!!! Go Cavs!!!!!!!!
