It's bull if you ask me but your gonna get ppl say it's because of who they play but you know something I hope they make it in at 8 and just run a muck when they get to the playoffs and show all the critics that Jackson is for real!!

i think they will get in even with one loss. a win over ironton and gallia and a 10-0 finish would put this team in at about a 5 or 6 seed with no upsets. with the right upsets maybe get a home game. its just tough when other teams are playing big computer points game and you are not. several teams this week are playing teams with almost no secondary points.

Thanks for the info that makes me feel batter but they have to pull out the win this weekend for them to take advantage of the other teams playing for no points this weekend.

indian hill plays a similar game this weekend. win it they get like 26 secondary points and they should feel comfortable lose and it is a dog fight. shawnee has two bigs left one this week win one of two and they are in great shape and probably hosting lose both and they will be down there around 7 thru 10 fighting also. it will be a weekend that a lot of people play their way in or out.

in most weeks this region has had few upsets. you got to believe at least one weekend will be like what some of the other regions have scene where 4 or 5 of top 10 teams lose. but maybe the region is just that solid this year.

i've seen it happen before. and i think that's 1 of the main reason's ironton schedules so many bigs. but it could bite ya right back in the rear too.

THERE ARE A FEW BIG GAMES THIS FRIDAY THAT COULD HELP THE IRONMEN:

Shawnee (6-0) vs Tecumseh (5-1) ... Shawnee won 35-21 last season when the two teams played.
Cincinnati Indian Hill (5-1) vs Madeira (6-0) ... Madeira won 41-31 last year.

Jackson would definitly like to see those teams lose - and of course a win over Ironton would be huge for the Ironmen.

I know having JONATHAN ALDER & KETTERING ALTER moving up into Division III, Region 12 has made the Division pretty tough ... Also, Athens (6-0) moving down from D-II has made an impact this year as well.

I think they have to be 10-0 to get in . at 9-1 they finish 9th I believe which is a load of crap.

The region will shake out a little as we get to the end, I think Jackson will be just fine when all is said and done.

I'm pretty knowledgeable about the computer rankings and their calculations, but there's something that I'm curious about.

St. Charles plays the Columbus Crusaders, which is a game that doesn't count in the OHSAA rankings. Their L2 Divisor is 89 because of that game and because DeSales only plays nine games. My question is, if St. Charles only plays 9 OHSAA sanctioned games, how is Jackson's L2 divisor 100 rather than 99?

Anyone able to explain this one to me because I'm not understanding it?

Interesting. I agree, I would think if the game is not sanctioned then the divisor would be 99 also. I thought it was maybe an oversite but Eitel and OHSAA have it the same way maybe Joe would explain it via e-mail.

Jacksons divisor won't go to 99 until after they have played st. charles. If you've already played the team your divisor goes down the week they've had the bye or game that does not count if you have not played them yet your divisor goes down the week you play them if that makes sense.

a lot of things will go on in this division this week. Besides all the games mentioned so far. Dayton Carroll plays arch bishop alter. in a game i think they have a real shot at winning. taft plays woodward a team with zero second level points and thurgood marshall plays. a team from michigan with zero second layer points. athens and logan elm both play teams with less then 5 second level points this week. Eaton must beat bellbrook and get there 16 second level points to have a shot. and jonathon alder should pretty much eliminate washington court houses chances and basically wrap up thee top seed with a win on friday.

ironman02 - Wow, glad to see your still alive and kicking man ... Ive had numerous conversations with your buddy here in A-town (K.W.) about a possible Athens/Jackson meeting in week 11 ... We're still fumming over the 2003 debacle involving a certain freshman soccer player/kicker - and would like nothing else than to finally avenge that loss!!!

LOL. Justin Mullins with the 39 yarder as time expired. Such a great memory! :)

Good to see you on here, bulldog. I'd love to see a Jackson/Athens matchup in the playoffs, but I'd obviously be hoping for another win by the Ironmen.

Yea, uh - that wasn't really that good of a memory I02 ... More like a brutal nightmare ... I mean seriously, could you have at least beaten us with a touchdown or something? Having a freshman soccer player do the damage was like having salt rubbed into an open wound.

Well, no matter what: I'll be cheering for the Ironmen throughout the regular season - I'm always a 'supporter' of area teams and want as many as possible to make it to week 11 ... Good luck Friday @ Ironton.

Thanks. Good luck to the Bulldogs the rest of the way too. Looks like it's all leading up to a Week 10 showdown with the Buckeyes.
